On our first MK morning we have 8:05 breakfast reservations at CRT. If we are finished breakfast by 9:00 head straight to Repunzel M&G. If not everyone is done by 9:00 send 1 adult (probably me because I don't eat much for breakfast), to wait in line for M&G.

Do you think this will work?

If this does not work we have a second chance to try again on our 2nd MK day when we have 8:00 breakfast reservations at CP.

Why don't you all just have a nice breakfast, wait until you are all done together and then all get in line together? IMHO, the chances of you being done by 9am are pretty slim. This assumes you get seated right at your ADR time which, rarely seems to happen for me. For CRT, I would give 1 1/2 hours to be done so you can enjoy the character interaction.

Have a great trip!

Yes this will work....and I am sure you won't make anyone mad by holding spaces in line for other family members. Everyone will completely understand..:rotfl2:

My experience with the Rapunzel M&G is that the line for a particular show is full before the previous show begins. I am not sure how the early shows go, as my experience is an afternoon experience.

When we did the M&G, I would characterize the line as a "Dad Line" filled with talk of sports until five minutes before the M&G began when moms and little girls appeared. If you do not make the show you first get in line for, your plan to have a lineholder will work fine.

That's what I would do. I would:

1) Make sure you are at the park well in advance of your time. I"d be at the gate no later than 7:30 so you'll be one of the first in.

2) Try to be one of the first at the podium so you are not delayed in line waiting for your photo with Cindy

3) Ask for your ticket soon after being seated so you are not killing time waiting for it later

4) If you aren't completely done, send one adult ahead to get your spot. Miss by even 10 minutes and it will add a couple hours to the process for you. It will turn something sort of cute and fun into drudgery.

NOTE: This time of day they move at a pretty "efficient" pace anyway. I think you'll be done if you don't get delayed behind a pack of people checking in.

I would NEVER rush through a nice experience like CRT, but there's no reason you can't go about it in a smart fashion.

When we did that meet and greet, my dd flew to the line up area. I believe the park opened for guests that day at 7am, with official opening at 8am. We were there, at the entrance at 7. DD was about the 10th person in the line.
I doubt anyone will have an issue if someone from your group heads to the line up area right at 9. Get to your breakfast about 15 mins early and you may be seated either a bit early or right on time. I don't think it will take more than an hour to eat there, but we don't tend to linger.
Now...if there are 10 little girls in your group and dad heads out to save spots right at 9, then you may run into some irrate parents when they see your 10 girls arrive!! But, I tend to doubt that is going to be the case.

How many people will you be joining you? The Rapunzel meet and greet is a bit diiferent than the rest. The CM's only allow so many in for each session. So depending how many are in line behind you and how many join you, you could actually make where some others have to wait an hour to get in, because they didn't make the cut off.

This happened to our daughter in December. We were in line for the meet and greet. When the CM's were letting the next group in, another family added 5 more kids. My dd had to wait an hour (her choice) for the next session. At least for the next session she was the first in line.

We had multiple situations where parents were waiting in the line and the kids joined them later. The woman behind us, was just sitting there reading a book. When the CM arrived, she started texting/calling her family. She was frantic. They 'thought' the first show wouldn't be until 9:15, but with the EMHs at 7 and official opening at 8, they moved the first appearance to 8:15!! The poor woman kept calling and calling her family. When they arrived, there were about 4 of them.
And there were a few groups in front of us who had others join them as time went on. It's to be expected I guess.

True, that it's to be expected. We don't get in line unless we are all together. I realize others don't feel the same. But, just imagine if your child was waiting and 15 others came in at the last minute making your child miss the show. To each their own I guess.

I think anyone would get upset if 15 little girls showed up to be with one person holding their place in line. But honestly, that's not likely to happen. One lone adult, especially a man, would be a big heads up to me that someone was joining him. If it's just a couple girls, I wouldn't have a single problem with it.

I'm not big on line cutting, or sometimes even place holding. But Disney has made this attraction VERY HARD to do. I'd give a little slack.

I did this meet and greet a few weeks ago. It is expected that one person holds the place in line for their entire group. There is a CM who asks each person who gets in line how many are in their group and they keep a tally. When that tally gets to the limit they tell the next people getting in line that they will be part of the later grouping.

We were at the 8 am rope drop and the first Rupunzel M&G was at 9:15. We got to the line at about 8:10 (had to stop to purchase autograph books) and the CM asked how many would be in our group. I told her we had 8 people and she said we were the last people for the 9:15 grouping. My wife then took our kids to ride Dumbo and Peter Pan while I held the place in line. Everyone who was in front of me did the same thing. The people who got in line behind me were told that they were in the 10:15 grouping, and the CM's did the same thing (asking how many were in each group and keeping a tally). When you get in the line they tell you what time your group would get in so there are no surprises. If 15 people join a group in front of you, they were already accounted for by the CM when you were told what time you'd get in.

When our group went in at about 9 o'clock the 10:15 group was already filled, and the next people getting in line were told they would be in the 11:15 group.

Actually like the PP said it is okay to hold spots for your family members in this line the CM ask how many are in your group and they take a count. I even held some spots for some of my fellow line members while they ran to the restroom. Everyone was super friendly.

I think that sounds like a good plan. Just remember to ask your server to run the bill right away rather than waiting until the end of the meal, so that you aren't sitting around waiting to settle the check when you're ready to move on. CRT has been a pretty rushing dining experience both times we've been there so I don't think you should have much trouble getting in and out, or at least done with the important parts, in an hour.

Personally, I think this is a good idea and certainly sounds like they encourage the space holding.

OP - I would just hate for you to rush thru breakfast though. Or miss any of it yourself. I would probably come up with an alternate plan (a later M&G) as well so you can enjoy both.

I wouldn't rush through CRT either. But I think they will be done, or done enough for one of them to go wait in line.

A later M&G that day would require hours in line. Really. It's rope drop of bust for this one.

I'm glad they're doing this.

I would agree they would be done eating. When we went; it took quite a while for all of the characters to come around. I think our total time was 1 1/2 hrs and we had an 8am breakfast reservation.

really would love to do this one but I only have 1 DS4 and dont think he would care if he missed it and I can't see rushing here at rope drop and missing prime park time...then again we arent going till Jan so maybe it wont be so crazy...1 can only hope right :)

I wonder when they started doing this. It would have been nice to know that before my dd got to the froint of the line and then was told she would have to wait for the next group. Maybe they saw this happen a lot and decided to implement a plan. I am glad they did.
