Rapid Prototyping Services (Anyone ever use one)

Probably mainly for any engineers that are out there, has anyone ever used a rapid prototyping service? And if so, could you recommend one, I'm finding quite a few on the internet, but have no clue as to how good they are or anything like that yet. Would appreciate any suggestions you had. Its for fairly simple parts that I'm making for a couple of inventions i have. I can use just about any type of hard plastic materials, probably nylon too, etc. Thanks.

It's been a few years since I had some parts made.

I remember using a web site that allowed various vendors to quote the job. Unfortunately, I don't remember the specific web site, but www.quickparts.com appears to provide this service.

I would try to select a vendor that is local to your area to make shipping and follow up work easier.
