Rant...Just got the gas bill

Is everything - the meter, the box, the reader (both the device and the person ) - functioning properly? Tell them you want it all checked. Tell them you want a free energy audit.

I would have them check the meter also.

We had our water bill double and this also caused our sewer bill to double (they bill separately) so I called our local water district. They insisted I must have a leak somewhere and I said no way was there was leak in the house. They sent someone out to check the meter, ended up replacing it and told me to expect higher bills because old meters "slowed down" with age and the new one would read correctly. I got the next bill and it was back to normal.
