You regulars are taking me around the world with the trip reports. Just read tufbuf's Alpine one and they mentioned Greece being much more strenuous than the Alpine trip. That got me thinking. For all the ones who have done them, how would you RATE them (1-10 easy to strenuous) and why.

Some, esp US and European trips have lower suggested age limits down to age 6. I'd love to get some insight from the pros. I'm in perpetual planning mode and just ITCHING to start going somewhere other than WDW. My kids are finally getting big enough to really travel: ds 8 and ds 5.5. We are set to leave in 24 days for Southwest US trip. So incredibly excited.

Never thought much about China, but with Cousin Orville, I feel like I've been there for the past week and a half too. I'm also a cruiser and from what I'm getting on this forum, I think ABD may just replace DCL at the top of my list in the next month. Thanks again guys! :)

I'm not sure any of the trips I've taken (France, Vietnam, China) are any more strenuous than the others. The Asian trips are longer with internal flights, so in that regard they may be a bit a little tougher for young kids than France. But then I took Gavin to Vietnam when he was 8 and he loved it.

Ah, not for me, I'm good. We are mainly thinking about our now 5.5 year old 40 pounder (and will be 6.5 next summer) who with too much walking will tell us "his legs are broken" and slumps into a pile on the floor. Dh will get to stay with him on the alternate tour while I get the Arches National Park Delicate Arch hike with my older son in 21 DAYS!!! (I'm just a BIT excited)

I wouldn't say the southwest one was too strenuous for us. When too tired, my ds5 would power nap. He fell asleep halfway down the Colorado river jetboat ride and on the bouncy open air truck ride at Monument Valley. Now I know he can sleep anywhere...

I have wondered about this as well. Our 9 yr old is ready for an ABD trip, but our 5.5 yr old complains about his legs being tired as well.
I am also itching to do an ABD tour soon. I have been considering of doing Germany or Central Europe for our 1st trip in 2 yrs. It seems those 2 aren't too strenuous. That would put 2nd DS at 7 yrs old. I would also love to do Costa Rica & Ecuador/Galapagos at some point too, but those seem much more strenuous. So we'll wait to do those later.
