Hi Everyone,

For those of you who have used Randy Chapman Photography, I have some questions I hope you can help me with. I have the price lists and know it can be customized. My first question is, have you used one of his packages or did you customize it? My other question, was the price reasonable if you did customize? If your not comfortable discussing this on the boards, please PM me as I'd love to hear some insights. I really love the work I've seen and would love to use him.

Thanks! ::MinnieMo

Hi Theresa I'm more than happy to discuss how we used Randy ;)

We went with Package #2 but then I tweaked it a little - I took out the Thank You wallets so Randy threw in the Black and White photos in their place. I also took out one of the Parent's Albums I then paid a little extra on top of the package for Randy to come back to do our Illuminations Party - in all he was with us for 10 hours and I think in total we paid just over $2,100 and we also got all of our pictures not only in the proof album but as high-res prints on cd's.

Hope that helps :)

We had package #3, and I think we paid about $2,400 for it, but I forget the exact amount. We took out the thank you wallets, and one of the parent albums and left everything else. We used the credit of the wallets and the parent album to pay for extra pages in our album, and for a couple extra prints.

Randy was well worth every penny that we paid.

We used Randy's intimate package. It was 575 for up to 3 hrs, 150+ proofs in an album and the master cd. We ended up using him only for about 2 hrs, but we got 320 pictures.

:cool1: does disney charge when you use randy?

It depends on what you mean - I know both Helen and I got charged differently if I recall, although I could be wrong.

In my contract it stated that if I used an outside vendor (e.g. Randy) for my Custom Wedding I would have to pay a $90 "chaperone" fee (which seemed ridiculous when everyone knows that Randy "knows Disney like the back of his hand) for the first 3 hours and then an extra $30 per hour after that. And it would be the same if I used an outside videographer.

Well I used both Stan and Randy and I budgetted for these fees for both of them but on our final invoice I was only charged one fee of $90 and nothing else.

I know Ellie wasn't charged anything, but I think Helen paid more for her chaperone fee, am I right?

We used Randy for an intimate package. I'm thrilled with his pictures and he was wonderfu to work with. We also got 2 8x10's instead of the 1 11x14. The high resolution cd is also a great perq that you get with his packages.

Sam is right....while she was charged the minimim fee, we were charged $120 (4 hours). However, since we had Randy for almost 11 hours, I was still thrilled to only be charged for 4 ;) Keep in mind that while Disney has been rather inconsistant in their charging of the escort fee, it is in your contract that they can charge you for the entire time the outside vendor is with you, so its better to budget for the fee, and have some extra money in your pocket if you aren't charged.

Thanks, Sam! Did you have to book Randy twice for him to come back? Did you do the Illuminations Party as your reception or just as part of the entire celebration? Thank you again for your insights! :earsgirl:

With the Intimate package, did you get an album? Also, are they all color or mixed with black & white? Sorry for all the questions :flower:

I'm now even more certain about using Randy as our photographer. My Future SIL was married recently and we were looking at her proofs last night. I really loved the candid shots and the b&w shots. I'm so excited to be getting married!!!

Another question about Randy... I know that you get the copyrights to the pictures but does Randy actually give you a paper stating this? Did anyone have any problems getting prints made from the cd and where did you go to get the prints made?

Thank you so much,

Jamie

i didn't see anywhere that said that he gave us the copyrights, but no where does it say copyright Randy Champan like it does on disney photos or other photographers' pictures. As far as printing them, we uploaded ours on kodakgallery.com and they came out pretty well. You can also take the cd to kiosks pretty much anywhere that develops pictures and have them printed on the spot. You can always order reprints from randy if you are worried about quality; his prices are pretty reasonable.

I've heard Stan's name mentioned in conjunction with videography... I already know I'm going with Randy Chapman for our wedding just by looking at all your pics and hearing the wonderful things about him, but especially now since hearing some of the prices... :cool1: We definitely want a great videographer... any prices or opinions about Stan or others? Thanks. :goodvibes :flower:

We used both Stan and Randy, and we loved them both. You can see a gallery with video samples from Stan’s weddings at http://www.stvsweddings.com/gallery/index.html. Stan is not the least expensive videographer, but he’s pretty much in the middle price-wise. Two thumbs up for both Randy and Stan!

I recently booked with Randy & specifically asked about the photo rights. I was told that with the CD, I had the rights, but if this was ever questioned (by photo processing companies) that they would provide a letter for me.

Do Disney actually put a copyright mark on your wedding photos when using Disney as the phototgrapher? :confused3

Yup they sure do - but at a very high cost you can buy the high resolution CD - however Sam you may want to check on the prices of these for UK brides as I believe they do it for cheaper as we're sooo far away over the pond ;)

I booked him out for the whole day so the Illuminations Party was part of the whole celebration - But because we had like a 3 hour down time Randy went off and then came back for the party and he was already at the Lower UK Terrace when we got there.
