Hi Gang,

I have a few various WDW Annual Pass questions I'm hoping you can answer for me.

1) To redeem our vouchers, where do we have to go? We will be staying at Bay Lake so am not sure if we can do it at the hotel, at the front gate to MK, or do we have to go to the TTC?

2) I believe all adults have to be present with valid IDs to get their APs, correct? What about children? Can I pick up APs for my children if they are not there?

3) Most of us have regular APs, but my parents will have Florida resident APs. They will have their driver licenses with them to prove residency, but do they have to bring it with them each time they visit a park or once it is redeemed and verified, is it considered good to go?

Thanks!

Any ticket booth or guest relations. there is one outside and inside of every theme park and springs.

I've heard mixed on this but last I heard was children under 18 do not need to be there. it takes a few minutes and lines aren't horrible so just stop by with everyone on the way into your first park. since it's an annual pass and your walking distance to MK. Go through security and walk all the way to the right without trying to enter the park.

If they want to get discounts they will need the id every time.

Just curious... Why wouldn't adults always have their ID (drivers licence) on their person??

Many states it's actually the law.

They don't have to have their ID on them to verify Florida residency after the first initial time of activating the pass. However all AP's that have ID should always have it on them as you'll need to show ID to receive your AP discounts when dining or shopping at places. Or if you're using your AP card to use the free parking, 99% of the time you'll need to show ID with it to verify it's your card. Also the AP holder doesn't have to be the driver, just needs to be in the car.

There is no state where it is the law to carry ID. You need it when driving and may be denied certain services (like getting alcohol or entering a government building) but no - nowhere in the country you need ID just to simply exist in public.

Thanks all! I would imagine they would have their IDs most of the time, but I just want to make sure I'm aware so i can tell them you HAVE to have it vs you should have it. :)

My personal experience renewing our AP in April 2016. I went to DHS with the AP renewal vouchers on a weekday, it was for myself and my DD16. CM told me that she couldn't give me my DD16 ap card because she wasn't there and they had to see her (I guess to make sure she was underage?) when I told her that she was in school, she seemed to struggle with herself a bit and then just gave me my DD's ap card.So to avoid problems I would have everyone there

Okay, I'll go with that.
That still leaves the common sense question wide open however.

All passholders need to show photo ID to get merchandise and food discounts.

This happened to me too. I tried to purchase my kids AP's while I was there on a solo trip to avoid waiting in line when I had the antsy kids with me. They would not let me do it. Even though a kids AP is the same price as an adult AP. They wanted to sell me a voucher, which sort of defeated the idea of avoiding a line with kids in tow.

I don't recommend trying to get anyone's pass for them without them present. Disney is very strict about doling out passes and more often than not will not disperse if the person is not present to pick this up. Just based on my own personal experiences.
