It's split into 10 and 15 mark questions. So is my Geography exam, which also has a section worth 40 marks with 3 questions. Marks can reach up to 20 in that. It's not as bad as my other Geography exam, which is a 70 mark essay. Only one question.

That's a lot of marks.
In the bio exams... the highest mark question you can get is a 9 mark question.

Stop reminding me of school, lol.

Have fun at summer camp, which is where I think you're going because I read someone was... :p

Does the attractiveness of the defendent affect whether the jury will find them guilty? Let's read and find out.

Well, there's a stereotype where attractive people will have attractive personalities. This means the jury might make their decision on how the person looks. This is why people are advised to dress smart and look neat & clean on the day of appearance in court.

I based one of my middle school science fair projects off this. It's called the Physical Attractiveness Bias and basically it states that people view others who are attractive in a better light than those who are not attractive. So according to my test an attractive person was seen to be more kind, more warm hearted, and more generous (few examples of traits I tested) than people of average attractiveness. So in the jury case an attractive defendant could potentially be seen as a better person and therefore not convicted due to their attractiveness.

xD are you doing pysch-type stuff?

I have a Psychology exam on Monday. I'm still trying to learn all my studies. It's difficult.

Castellow et al. looks at the effects of physical attractiveness on jury verdicts. There were three parts. If the defendant is attractive, are they more likely to be found innocent. If the victim is attractive, is the defendent more likely to be found guilty. Are there any gender differences in jury verdicts based on attractiveness.

It was a laboratory experiment using a mock-trial format. It involved students who needed extra credit in their Psychology course at East Carolina University. They read a sexual harrassment case with pictures and answered questions on it. The photographs were categorised by a previous panel on their attractiveness on a likert scale of 1-9 where 9 was very attractive and 1 was very unattractive. The dependent variable was the answer to the question "Do you think the defendant was guilty of sexual harrassment?". Participants were asked to rate the defendant and victim on a scale on 11 bi-polar scales including cold-warm and nervous-calm.

Physically attractive defendants and victims were rated positively on the bi-polar scales. When the defendant was attractive, guilty verdicts were lower than when he was unattractive. When the victim was attractive, the guilty verdict was higher than when she was unattractive. There were no gender differences. Although the findings are from a mock trial, when applied to a courtroom, attractiveness is a factor on the jury's decision. The results in this study have been supported by evidence from similar research.

Crap! Took me 10 minutes to write that! I need to spend no more than 8 minutes on the 10 mark question and 10 minutes on the 15 marks question. (100 marks in 90 minutes)

Today we have a picnic for band camp, although my house is located on the road to the picnic place and is less than two miles away...

It's so nice to finally have a clean room. :goodvibes

Today, my sister starts music camp (not band camp.. yet). Starting Monday, she'll be at DU from 8:30am-9:30pm every day for two weeks.

Reading Journey to the Center of the Earth.. I wanted to read it in French, but I'm not that far in my studies to be able to...
