ooh, senorita made us learn the verb endings (i, isteis, imos, io, etc) and i got them confused with the OTHER verbs (e, o, aron, etc) and she was like 'NO NO you got them all confused with other verbs LEARN THEM MORE' and i was all D': xD and i was like, crying but trying to hide it, and then she came over when we were doing writing and told me 'it was nothing to get upset about' and made me cry even more LAWL and this one really horrible popular was just STARING at me when senorita was talking to me and i was all D: and i heard people keep saying my name
daaaaamn that was one embarrassing lesson, and my best friend wasnt in today, so she wasnt there. and then these 3 girls who are quite horrible came into the changing rooms at pe, and one put her bags down next to mine and the horrible-est one said 'god ruby, why did you put your stuff down next to someone you dont like', so this girl went 'oh' and moved up the bench, so i was all PISS OFFFF xD

But then again, she saw that Jacob was in a bad mood too (again, no idea why), and she may have assumed there was something going on b/w us (possiblyyy because we were fighting in class yesterday).

Lyssa was the only one who tried to calm me down the whole day, though, XD. Even my dear darling certain curly haired Italiano boy didn't do anything (though he may have been afraid of my random coming into Psychology sobbing-ness, XD).

INTERESTING FACTS

The Indiana Jones Adventure opened in March 1995, the Walt Disney Imagineering Preview was on January 31, 1995.

The ride building is actually outside of the original Disneyland boundaries -- it was built in what used to be an employee parking lot. This is why the queue seems so long -- it really *is*! It passes under the Disneyland Railroad's train tracks right about the Spike Room.

Each ride vehicle is a motion simulator capable of a variety of movements. There are almost 160,000 possible combinations -- virtually guaranteeing that every adventure will be unique.

Listen to the Indy figure at the end of the ride -- he has several different comments. Likewise, as you approach the unloading area, you'll hear Salah make a comment appropriate to which door of the Temple you went through.

Just after the Newsreel section the queue passes by Indy's office -- this area has props from some of the Indiana Jones movies.

"Throughout the life of the project, over 400 Imagineers gave worked on the design and construction, including a core team of nearly 100. " **

INTRODUCTION

Climb up the steps into Tarzan's Treehouse and walk the ramps past scenes from Tarzan's life. Each scene features a sketch by Jane that describes it. The treehouse is located at the edge of Adventureland where it meets up with New Orleans Square.


ATTRACTION

Tarzan's Treehouse -- The treehouse features several "rooms" in the branches of an extremely large tree, which are connected by a series of ramps and stairs. To get up into the treehouse, climb a winding set of stairs and cross a bouncy wooden bridge. You'll climb some more steps and find yourself at the top of the treehouse, which is where Tarzan lived with his parents. Watch out for Sabor the leopard. (You're about 60 feet off the ground so there's also a nice view of Disneyland from here!)

From here all the steps go down, to scenes depicting Kala's raising of Tarzan, the meeting of Tarzan and Jane, and Jane's father's laboratory.

On the bottom level is an interactive play area -- climb ropes, beat on pots and pans, or explore the contents of the tree stumps.

INTRODUCTION

"In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon
In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room."

As the song says, this attraction features an entire cast of audio-animatronic birds, flowers, and tikis who will sing, crack jokes and otherwise entertain the audience during the 15-minute show. A Disneyland classic.


ATTRACTION

Pre-show - After entering the turnstiles, you'll be in the outdoor "Tiki Garden" area. Around the perimeter of the garden are statues of the Tiki gods -- Maui, Koro, Tangaroa-Ru, Hina, Pele, Ngendi, Rongo, and the big tree, Tangaroa. A few minutes before the doors to the theater open, the tiki gods come to life and speak, accompanied by a variety of special effects.


Enchanted Tiki Room - You'll enter the theater building and may sit anywhere on the padded, backless benches which are on all four sides of the theater. Above your head are a variety of tropical flower arrangements and birds sitting on perches. The sides and back of the room are decorated with tiki masks and drummers.

After the door closes, the show starts when a Cast Member wakes up Jose, the macaw who serves as Master of Ceremonies. The room comes to life in a burst of color and song as his fellow macaws Michael, Pierre, and Fritz lead the rest of the birds in a chorus of "In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room."

In the center of the room the enchanted fountain rises and falls and changes colors as the bird mobile is lowered and the audience is invited to sing along as we all "sing like the birdies sing."

The flower baskets are the featured performers in the musical luau. The orchids sing in a Polynesian language, then the tiki drummers in the back and the tiki totems on the side join in.

Suddenly there are flashes of lightning and the sound of thunder, and outside the windows it appears to be raining heavily. The enchanted fountain and bird mobile make a last appearance, and the birds and tikis sing the Tiki Room version of "Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's out the door you go," as the macaws perform a final magic trick and make the audience disappear.

INTRODUCTION

Take a guided canoe trip on a voyage around Tom Sawyer's Island and the Rivers of America - but you'll have to do your own paddling!


ATTRACTION

Tucked along the edge of the Rivers of America next to the Hungry Bear restaurant is a small boat dock from which the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes embark and disembark.

Each canoe holds 20 guests, two per row. Before boarding, take a paddle from the box on the dock, either child- or adult-sized. Once everyone is aboard and seated, guides dressed in Frontier attire will conduct a short lesson on how to hold the paddle, and how to (try to) paddle in a somewhat coordinated fashion so that the canoe will actually go somewhere!

Along the Rivers of America the guides will point out some of the sights along the way, like the burning cabin and the Indian chief on horseback. It's kind of like the Frontierland version of the Jungle Cruise... except the guides have bigger muscles.

This is the only ride in Disneyland that is guest-powered -- if no one paddles, then it turns into a pretty long ride! Otherwise the length of the ride varies depending on how fast or slow the paddlers are, and how much other traffic is on the Rivers of America - those pesky sailing ships and riverboats have right-of-way. Expect it to take 5-10 minutes.

INTRODUCTION

Enjoy a slow cruise around the Rivers of America aboard an authentic steam-powered paddlewheeler. The Mark Twain Riverboat is located in Frontierland just across from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.


ATTRACTION

Come aboard the Mark Twain and pick a spot on any of the three levels of the riverboat. Your voyage on the Rivers of America around Tom Sawyer Island features a narration by your riverboat guide and by Mark Twain, who speaks of his days as a riverboat pilot. You'll hear the leadsman singing out the river depth..."Mark one, mark two, half twain...mark twain" - "mark twain" means "safe water."

Your guide will point out landmarks along the way, like a mansion that's said to be haunted, Splash Mountain, the canoes, Fort Wilderness, and
the remains of a runaway mine train. There are several Native American sightings, including a chief on horseback, a boy and his dog, and a village.

Before arriving back at the dock Mark Twain will leave you with one last thought: "Always do right - it will gratify some people and astonish the rest."

INTRODUCTION

Take a voyage around the Rivers of America on this 18th century sailing ship. The Sailing Ship Columbia is located in Frontierland just across from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It shares the dock with the Mark Twain Riverboat.


ATTRACTION

The Sailing Ship Columbia is a full scale replica of the first American ship to sail around the world. It has 10 guns, three masts, and is 84 feet tall. You board the ship by climbing up some rather steep steps up onto the deck. Once on board, be sure to visit the "museum" belowdeck. You'll see the crew, captain, and surgeon's quarters as well as the galley, and get some idea of what life was like for the crew in the year 1787.

Once your crew casts off, the ship begins its voyage around the Rivers of America. The captain provides a somewhat tongue-in-cheek running commentary as he calls orders to his (somewhat inept) crew. One of the ship's guns is fired at Ft. Wilderness - but don't worry, they never hit anything. Recorded background music plays a selection of nautical songs like "Blow the Man Down", and "Rolling Home".

INTRODUCTION

Adventurers both young and not-so-young can explore this pirate paradise - making their way through spooky caves, climbing through treehouses and even finding pirate treasure.


ATTRACTION

Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island is located in the middle of the Rivers of America. The island is only accessible via raft - the raft dock is located on the water's edge near the Haunted Mansion. The rafts hold about 30 people - there are a few places to sit, but most passengers must stand during the short trip over to the island. A map of the island is available from Cast Members when boarding the raft.

Once on the island there are a variety of areas to explore:

Dead Man's Grotto - This dark and narrow series of caves harbors a number of pirate scenes and a few startling special effects, such as a "bottomless" pit with a pirate skeleton, a cask holding Davy Jones' beating heart, and a hoard of pirate treasure guarded by a spooky pop-up head and a skeletal arm and eyeball.

Smuggler's Cove - This area has multiple activities where would-be pirates can burn off a little steam. A pontoon bridge crosses the cove over water while a suspension bridge keeps explorers high and dry. A scaled-down version of the "bone cage" from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is available as a photo-op. On the water's edge treasure seekers can man the bilge pumps and reveal pirate treasure aboard a sunken ship, or wind the capstan and raise up a treasure chest which has a little something extra attached!

Castle Rock - steep and winding stairs lead to the top of this lookout point, which has spyglasses pointing in all directions.

Shipwreck - the stern portion of a beached ship.

Captain's Treasure - Piles of gold doubloons and treasure chests plus a large Jolly Roger flag provides a great backdrop for photos.

Tom and Huck's Tree House - climb the ladder and some steep steps to the top of the tree house. Inside are pirate "masks" painted on the walls - the eyes are spy hole cutouts.

Will Turner's Blacksmith Shop - Will's tools and works-in-progress are visible inside. The waterwheel outside the building slowly turns and causes some things inside the building to move around.

Lafitte's Tavern - The Bootstrappers, a roving pirate band, perform here several times a day. They invite the audience to participate as they sing sea chanteys and tell tall stories.

The Haunted Mansion is home to 999 Happy Haunts... with room for 1000. Any volunteers? Doom Buggies carry guests on a tour of the mansion, through the spooky hallways to the spirited ballroom, the ghastly garret to the ghostly graveyard.

A classic Disneyland attraction!


ATTRACTION

On the far side of New Orleans Square sits an old antebellum Southern mansion. The queue winds around outside around the grounds and past the family cemetery before entering the front doors of the mansion. An impassive Cast Member will usher you into one of two octagonal rooms, and instruct you to proceed to the dead center of the room.

The door is closed, and suddenly the room begins to descend. Watch the changing portraits on the walls -- all is not as it first appears! Your invisible Ghost Host will greet you and present you with a challenge --"to find a way out!"

Kelsi: *tries to blow a bubble, cannot* I, I, I know I know how, I did it today at school!
Sara: How about you just show me later, sweetie. *walks off stage*
Kelsi: Fine. *spits gum out on floor and runs after mom*

Lizzy: *on phone* So I wore my Tuesday underwear on Wednesday... yeah, I dunno why I did that either. *steps in gum that Kelsi spit on ground* Oh gross, I've got to go, some people are such slobs. *Takes off shoe, and wipes gum off of shoe and onto chair on center stage*

Journe: Are you excited for the party tonight?
Rhianna: Yeah, I heard Chris Brown's gonna be there!
Journe: OH MAN GURL, I've been practicing my dance moves! *que song "I Whip my Hair..."* *Journe starts shaking head around crazily* Oh no, my, my, hair is stuck to the chair!
Rianna: *pulls Journe, Journe's "weave" comes off*
Journe: Uh on *grabs weave, takes gum out, throws on floor*
*both girls run off stage*

Morgan: 1, 2, 3, 4! *does cartwheel* No, my hand it stuck! Eww, is that gum? Eww! *Takes gum off hand and sticks to seat of chair. Exits*

Maddison: Oh spinny chair! *Runs over to chair, sits down, spins* Whoops...
Kayleigh: What's wrong?
Maddison: I'm... stuck...
Kayleigh: Here, let me help you! *pulls Maddison off chair*
Maddison: Eww, gum is stuck to my butt! *pulls off gum and throws it on the floor*

Erin: So, how's your boy?
Jillian: Oh, you know how it is, same old sa- *Jillian trips and falls* Ow, ow
Erin: Let me help you!
Jillian: *tries to get up, but cannot get face off of ground* I'M STUCK, I'M STUCK!
Erin: *tries pulling Jillian up*
Jillian: MY FACE IS STUCK! *after trying to get up, finally gets up*
Erin: *takes gum off of Jillian's face and throws it on the floor*

Kelsi: Hey look! MY GUM! *picks up gum off of the floor and eats it* Mommy, look I can do it this time! *runs off stage*

But not to worry -- a door opens into a long hallway, lined with portraits and other ghostly artwork. The portraits change as you walk by, and the spectral busts at the end of the hall appear to turn and watch you, and only you -- but ask your fellow guests, and they'll tell you they were looking at them!

At the loading area you'll step onto a moving walkway and be shown into your Doom Buggy vehicle. Each seats two adults and a child, or three friendly adults. Your Ghost Host will speak to you periodically on this 8-minute ride, offering a few warnings and safety reminders.

On the tour of the mansion you'll ride through many spectral scenes, including a seance held by Madame Leota, a disembodied head projected inside a crystal ball. The face is that of the late imagineer Leota (Toombs) Thomas, and the voice that of Eleanor Audley, who also provided the voices of other well-known Disney movie characters like Maleficent and Cinderella's stepmother.

In the ballroom scene, the images that appear to dance around the room are created with a variation on an illusion known as "Pepper's Ghost." With this effect the transparent ghosts appear to be superimposed over the solid objects in the ballroom. Take a close look at the table -- there's a "hidden Mickey" in one of the table settings.

Near the end of your tour your Ghost Host will warn you to "Beware of hitchhiking ghosts!" But it's too late -- as your Doom Buggy turns and glides past a mirror, you'll see that you've been joined by an uninvited guest.

Step out of your Doom Buggy onto the moving walkway and take the escalator. As you rise back up to the land of the living a hologram of "Little Leota" will appeal to you to "hurry back... hurry baa-aack..."

In October 2001, Disneyland began the seasonal presentation of "Haunted Mansion Holiday", in which Jack Skellington and the rest of the Halloweentown gang take over the Haunted Mansion. The entire mansion is transformed as Halloween collides with Christmas -- with plenty of pumpkins, spider webs, and Santa hats. The Ghost Host has a new rhyming holiday "tale that's quite charming" which continues throughout the attraction. All of the portraits in the stretching room and the entry hall are replaced by representations of various Nightmare Before Christmas characters and themes. Madame Leota's seance becomes a holiday-themed tarot card reading: "On the 13th day of Christmas, my ghoul love gave to me Thirteen rings of power, embracing strength that never ends." Much of the background music throughout the attraction features spooky renditions of familiar Christmas carols -- in discordant minor keys. At the beginning of the final graveyard scene an audio-animatronic Jack Skellington, dressed as Sandy Claws, offers a holiday greeting. As for the rest of the graveyard scene --- it's amazing and really must be seen in person -- words don't do it justice.

Haunted Mansion Holiday typically starts the last weekend in September and runs through the first weekend of January. During this time the Haunted Mansion crowds are much heavier than usual and the Fastpass machines are activated.

Hey, Nick cut out Carly making a death threat to Spencer in today's episode. That's a reasonable edit (but still annoys me). However, an edit in an earlier episode was stupid. They cut out the beginning of an episode where they dumped soapy water onto a laptop, saying that it's the proper way to clean your parent's laptop. It's stupid because they kept in them holding the buckets, standing over the soaked laptop, and every scene where you can see the laptop... I can complain for ages about why Nick UK is idiotic with their broadcasting, but I don't have the time.
