You'll enter a semi-dark theater with long benches and the standard WDW-attraction request that you move all the way to the end of your row to make room for others. However, I've never seen this attraction crowded enough for this request to matter. So, if you hold back a bit when entering the theater, you can usually pick a comfortable location (maybe even near stage center) without everyone crowding into one long row. Also, as I said before, this is a very tame show no moving seats or physical assaults, like you'd experience in some of WDW's 3D shows. But it is noisy and dark, so be forewarned that this might upset some younger children in the audience, especially those sensitive to loud noises.

Bespectacled Captain Buzzy is no longer the animated character we met during the pre-show. He's a large, very cute, fully operational audio-animatronic. While seated in his command chair, he'll talk to the audience and get started on his first command of this "unstable craft" or, more precisely, 12-year-old Bobby's brain. Before the action starts, take this opportunity for a good look at the stage area. You'll notice that you are now inside what appears to be Bobby's brain, which explains why it's dark. Captain Buzzy has to turn the light on his command seat to get things started. In front of you, display screens on the main stage are Bobby's eyes, where you'll see everything Bobby sees. There are also other screens where you'll see General Knowledge or the actors who portray various body parts.

Now, that you're inside the command center, you learn the whole point of this show: "USE your head, don't LOSE your head." It's also where you see and hear more of Imagineering's humor and creativity. The command crew's members report in for the first time: there's the Left Brain, AKA actor Charles Grodin: "Morning, Captain. Left Brain reporting for duty, sir. Logic circuits working at full capacity. Let's have a safe and sane day, shall we?" Then there's the Right Brain AKA comedian Jon Lovitz: "Right Brain here, Buzz! Free association and creativity banks fully charged." The Left and Right Ventricles of the heart (better known as Saturday Night Live comics Kevin Nealon and Dana Carvey in their "Hans and Franz" guises) and comedian Bobcat Goldthwait (the Adrenal Gland), also make appearances. They're followed by actor George Wendt as the Stomach, who wonders: "Runnin' on empty down here. Suppose you could toss down some of those cold pizza crusts from last night?"

Although you may not know all these names, you'll probably immediately recognize the faces of these well-known actors and comedians. As you follow along with Bobby and Buzzy, from waking to a jarring alarm clock to a chaotic school day, it's not always easy to catch everything, because there's lots of action occurring simultaneously. But if you concentrate on what's being said, you'll hear the real genius of the casting: "Adrenal Gland reporting, Captain. Ready to freak out at any second." In Bobcat Goldthwait's screeching voice, this is so believable. Just the sound of his voice gets our adrenaline flowing. (Remember him from the "Police Academy" movies?) And anyone who recognizes George Wendt as Norm from the television show "Cheers" will see the appropriateness of his casting as the Stomach. He's obviously looking for a trip to the Hungry Heifer!

One thing you might notice is that this show's appeal to various ages comes from different elements. Adults, who recognize most of the celebrity actors and are familiar with their personalities and their other performances, will find the casting extraordinary. Young people will, obviously, relate to what's happening to Bobby during this eventful day at school. Overall, the humor can be enjoyed by all ages, and most of us will walk out having learned something something we didn't know or something we had long forgotten from school.

I don't want to give away the whole story -- then you might not be motivated to see the show yourself! I'll just add that this show is not just random humor. Since this is Epcot, where entertainment is meant to educate, you will learn subtly while having fun. For example, there's the gentle reminder by the robotic Hypothalamus that although often overlooked, it is the Hypothalamus that monitors all the body's automatic functions: "Blink, blink, breathe, breathe, day in, day out. Never a thank you, never a job well done." How many of us remember that from biology class? I didn't, at least not until after I saw Cranium Command.

One lesson that Captain Buzzy learns from his training exercise is one we can all appreciate (and should remember): "Real stress or imagined stress, it doesn't matter beans to your body crew. They can't tell the difference, only you can."

Cranium Command is only a 17-minute show. It's in an air-conditioned theater where you get to sit down. You'll have fun and maybe even learn a few things, so why not add it to the "must see" list for your next visit to Epcot? Maybe I'll see you there!

Food Rocks - Closed for Good January 3, 2004 to make way for the queue area of a new Epcot attraction similar to Disney California Adventure's Soarin', to open in 2005.

Enter the theater, sit back and be entertained by the Peach Boys, Pita Gabriel, Chubby Cheddar, and your host Füd Wrapper. These Animatronic cartoon versions of foods sing classic tunes with lyrics reworked to convey nutritional messages about reading food labels, a healthy diet and eating in moderation.

Performers in the 12-minute show include The Utensils, a collection of kitchen gadgets based on the band Queen; The Refrigerator Police, singing a parody of "Every Breath You Take"; The Sole of Rock 'n' Roll, a fish that strongly resembles the singer Cher; a piano-playing pineapple based on Little Richard; Neil Moussaka, a musical eggplant inspired by Neil Sedaka; and The Get-To-The-Point Sisters, based on The Pointer Sisters, singing a new version of "Respect."

Other songs include:"Always Read the Wrapper" (Füd Wrapper), "Choose Before You Chew" (U-Tensils and Cast), "Give Us Junk" (original composition, TheExcess), "Good Nutrition" (The Peach Boys), "High Fiber" (Pita Gabriel), "Just Keep It Lean" (The Sole of Rock ‘n’ Roll), "Let’s Exercise" (Chubby Cheddar), "Tutti Frutti" (Richard) "Vegetables Are Good for You" (Neil Moussaka) "We’ll Make It Count in the Kitchen" (U-Tensils).

Prior to Food Rocks was the show Kitchen Kaberet.

This musical comedy starred a host of characters who touted good nutrition facts through musical song and dance, courtesy of the Kitchen Krackpot band (featuring Audio-Animatronic containers of mayonnaise, mustard and barbecue sauce). The band opened the first of six acts with "Chase Those Mealtime Blues Away," followed by a giant refrigerator that revealed Mr. Dairy Goods and his three Stars of the Milky Way: Miss Cheese (a Mae West type), Miss Yogurt (with a French accent) and Miss Ice Cream (a la Pearl Bailey). These stars taught us all about dairy foods.

Next up were the Cereal Sisters: Mairzy Oats, Rennie Rice and Connie Corn, singing "Boogie Woogie Bakery Boy," like the Andrews Sisters. The Hamm n' Eggz performed a vaudeville-style comedy routine about protein. The Colander Combo and Fiesta Fruits introduced Latin rhythms about vegetables. The last act was the entire group of animated characters reminding everyone the importance of a balanced diet.

"Proper foods each time you dine,
Can keep you fit and feelin' fine.
Eating right's a healthy sign,
And feelin' good makes each day shine and shine."

The Kitchen Kabaret opened October 1, 1982 and closed January 3, 1994. It gave way to an updated show about nutrition called Food Rocks (which opened March 26, 1994) and closed in January 2004. Of course, the reason for Food Rocks closed was to make way for a new ride -- known as Soarin'!

The centerpiece of Disney's Millennium Celebration is the new Millennium Pavilion located in Epcot's World Showcase . It is a 65,000 square-foot building housing over 50 nations from around the world. The Millennium Village closed at the end of Disney's Millennium Celebration (January 2001).

Today the building is used for special events such as the Teddy Bear and Doll Convention and Pin Events.

Upon entering the building, you find yourself in a huge circular room with ambassadors from 8 countries, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Israel, Kenya, Namibia, New Zealand, India and South Africa .

Each ambassador welcomes you to the Pavilion and explains the Gifts to the World their country offers. This sets the tone for the rest of your journey.

First stop -- The Carnival -- where there are interactive games and exhibits for the whole family!

As you experience Brazil you can participate in a game to learn all about soccer! Kids especially enjoy this area.

Scotland has a unique miniature golf course which will share with you their gifts of science and technology. At the Spirit of Saudi Arabia the Ambassador will help you plot a magic carpet ride! In the Journey to Makkah , view a family scrapbook that shows how life is similar and different between the 2 families located across the globe from each other.

Take the time to visit the country of Eritrea , an ancient nation in East Africa that achieved its independence in 1993. The coffee ceremony has a long and fascinating history.

The Four Seasons of Sweden are inside those huge 30 foot eggs and were brought to Epcot from the Expo 98 in Lisbon Portugal. This is a fun walk through with a great photo-op for snow angels at the last stop.

Chile shows an ingenious way to harvest the fog through a system of nets that converts fog condensation into water for life-sustaining uses. The ambassadors here are dressed as huasos or Chilean cowboys, in traditional costume.

As you turn the corner you enter the Israel exhibit where the main attraction is the Journey to Jerusalem motion ride. There are a number of waiting areas inside the queue, a standing pre-show and then the motion simulator movie. There is a non-motion section that wheelchairs or other guests can sit in to enjoy the movie, but not experience the rocking.

At the Village Green you can play a game which begins with a seed and grows to harvest, mulching and fertilization; teaching you about renewable resources and recycling.

A not to be missed cultural experience is the World Showplace , a 200 seat theatre. Gifts of Song, Music and Dance are performed several times a day. During the following my visit the shows I saw were Denmark's Tivoli Garden's puppets and The Royal Thailand Ballet . Groups from South Africa, Bulgaria, Argentina, and Korea are already scheduled to appear.

The Yurt -- a tent-like structure which provides a warm home in Central Asia. The Yurt is from the Kyrgrz Republic . Inside the Yurt is a a marketplace where you will find artisans from 7 countries: Lebanon, Peru, Thailand, Egypt, Greece, Korea and Venezuela . The masters are creating their artwork and are happy to talk to you about their homeland and their art. You are also able to purchase the hand-made crafts.

A pavilion would not be complete without a special eatery! In the Millennium Village Cafe there are 8 regional kitchens offering tastes from all over the world. The food is served in small portions at reasonable prices so that you can experiment and taste a wide variety of foods.

The last stop is another interactive game called the Gifts to the World Game . This was a fun game and can be played by groups as well as individuals.

As you leave the Millennium Pavilion you are asked What is Your Gift to the World?

“Tapestry of Dreams,” celebrates children, dreams and the legacy of Walt Disney. The parade begins with Dream Seekers dancing alongside the Dream Catcher. The parade is a “visible dream,” in which ideas, images and emotions are evoked through the puppets and music.

"Tapestry of Dreams is a slightly shorter recycling of the popular Tapestry of Nations Parade from last year's Millennium celebration. It features all-new music, and appears without the Sage of Time figure who used to introduce the old parade. The filmy puppets and circular "clock-drums" are still in place, however. It's a beautiful production and well worth seeing in its new form! "

There are eight different types of puppets that are larger than life -- 12 to 19 feet high with wingspans between 8 and 16 feet wide. The oOriginal music was composed by Gavin Greenaway and Jonathon Barr, and recorded in London by members of the London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic.

The parade is divided into the Procession and the Celebration.

The Procession blends music with children’s voices, each telling their own dream, interspersed with a narrator revealing the power of dreams. There are three Dream Seekers: Elfin (representing nature, magic and emotion) and Cosmo (representing space, the universe and infinity) dance the parade route, interact with guests and “harvest” dreams; Leonardo Columbus (representing discovery, invention and genius) rides the Dream Catcher float, operates its gigantic “wings” and manipulates the float so that chimes and bells ring magically.

The Celebration is a spectacular street festival combining color, music and larger-than-life puppetry that weaves its way through World Showcase. During this joyous celebration, whimsical puppets dance together with guests. Each puppet’s specific movements emphasize its distinct character.

The puppets include:

Hammerman -- A futuristic, powerful and mature spiritual warrior that is friendly, with moves similar to a praying mantis.

Discman -- A teenager, class clown, a rag doll who loves people, very interactive, thinks he’s a dancer but is uncoordinated.

Reverse Marionette -- A toy-like, fatherly teacher who moves in a tender, gently protective way.

Aztec -- A primitive guardian of the human spirit who moves in a precise, regimented and uplifting manner.

Wiggle Girl -- A flirt, child-like, funny and beautiful, who moves like a dancer in a playful, explosive, interactive and unexpected manner.

Angel -- A spiritual, uplifting, heavenly puppet whose movement is graceful, inspiring, free and interactive.

Sprite -- A fragile, vulnerable, shy character who moves in a graceful ballet-like manner.

Birdman -- A tribal, eagle-like protector whose movement is majestic, statue-like, slow and commanding.

The Tapestry of Nations Parade, originally created for the Millennium Celebration was extended into 2001 and became the Tapestry of Dreams Parade!

Tapestry of Nations is actually 3 identical processionals, which occur concurrently in the World Showcase. Parade A can be seen between Mexico and Germany, Parade B between Germany and Morocco and Parade C between Morocco and Canada.

There are two shows nightly, (times vary seasonally) at 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., with the first parade running east to west (e.g. the Mexico/Germany parade runs from Mexico to Germany), while the second parades reverse direction, heading west to east (e.g. the Mexico/Germany parade runs from Germany to Mexico). This show has a very different look and feel depending on the time of day you view it, whether during the daylight, or when the park is dark.

Here are some Tapestry of Nations Facts according to the WDW Press Release:
A Twice-Nightly Celebration: Two performances take place each evening during the 15-month Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration. The nightly millennium celebration culminates with the performance of IllumiNations 2000: Reflections of Earth.

Puppets: Towering 18 feet above the ground, each of the 120 puppets is engineered to move effortlessly with the breeze.

Each puppet is manned by costumed performers who interact with Epcot guests. The figures were designed by artist Michael Curry, whose famous creations include the award-winning puppets for The Lion King on Broadway.

Torch Towers: Nineteen giant torch towers, with flames at nearly 30 feet above World Showcase Lagoon, ignite the spirit of celebration.

Drums: Fifteen massive, rolling percussive units carry a total of 720 drums and 30 drummers.

Performers: More than 150 costumed performers star in Tapestry of Nations.

Orchestral Arrangement: The original score for Tapestry of Nations was written by British-born composer Gavin Greenaway, noted for his work on Hollywood movies, and supervised by Hans Zimmer, Oscar-winning composer for he Lion King. The music was recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios made famous by The Beatles.

Production: Senior Show Director - Gary Paben Producer - Paul Marosi Managing Producer - John Haupt

INTRODUCTION

Set beneath the Wonders of Life golden dome in Future World is a pavilion filled with life-and-health related attractions. Attractions include Body Wars, Cranium Command, The Making of Me, Coach's Corner, Goofy About Health and the Fitness Fairgrounds.

The Wonders of Life pavilion opened in October 1989 and is located between the Universe of Energy and Mission: Space.

ATTRACTIONS

Body Wars -- A motion simulator ride that miniaturizes you for your journey through the human body. Upon arriving at the "Body Wars" launch site, you will be "miniaturized" to the size of a single cell and beamed inside the human body. The probe's captain -- Jack Braddock (actor Tim Matheson) -- prepares to set out on a seemingly routine medical mission. You are a member of the crew of civilian observers accompanying him.

The objective is to rendezvous with Dr. Cynthia Lair (actress Elisabeth Shue), an immunologist who also has been miniaturized and beamed inside a patient to study the body's response to a splinter lodged beneath the skin. Soon, however, the voyage evolves into a high-speed race against time when Lair is swept from the splinter site into the rush of the bloodstream.

Beyond the pounding chambers of the subject's heart and on through the lungs' gale-force winds, the ship rides the body's current in an effort to rescue Dr. Lair. Even after she's safely on board, excitement builds as the ship loses power and heads toward the brain in search of emergency power and escape.
