Random thoughts from the 12/7 cruise...

Michelle, Dagney, and Alex--

Your stories about the Adult entertainment staff is right on the money! Your experience with them is what you make of it. We don't mind hanging out with them or making "fools" of ourselves either. Robin remembered me from our last cruise on the Wonder where I was pregnant, and he joked with me about knowing Trevor before he was "Trevor"! The whole entertainment staff made our trip--including giving attention during other activities to our kids. I remember looking off our verandah at Castaway Cay and Robin was filming a training video for the staff--he hollered out "well if it isn't Sue Ellen and Steve!" all the way up to us (on the 8th deck!) Your cruise is what you make it (with some help from the crew)
Anyway, Alex, your story about your daughter reminded me of Tara. She wanted to do an activity after the last one she told us she was doing--she knew we were in one of the clubs, but couldn't locate us--so she called the room, left us a voice message, and also a note about where she was and when she would be back (this was last year when she was 10 and before they made you take a pager). She was so "grown up" and responsible. It is incredible helping to teach them responsibility there, and since the ship is basically secure, it allowed her more freedom than anywhere else. She handled it well, as it sounds like your daughter did. OH, and I am just HORRIFIED to hear about the sheets! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear you made it home okay.
Michelle, I know it's cold in Orlando. I only had a couple of days and it was SO cold! I was wearing sweatshirts and jackets, along with my silly Mickey Santa hat to stay warm.
Have a great time and a safe trip home. Thanks for the report.

One of the highlights of the cruise for us actually came from the sanitation. On the first day of the cruise, the Mickey pool was closed while it was being worked on by a group of men in yellow haz-mat-style jumpers.

My wife and I looked at each other and then to our kids and told them to watch out because the "CDA" (think Monsters, Inc.) was on board to find any children wandering around without their parents.

For the rest of the trip, our kids referred to the men in yellow as the CDA.

Glad to hear you had a great cruise. I was wondering if there are any new characters on the Magic? I was on the Magic last year and DS saw about 15 different characters in meet and greets and autograph sessions. I know from my visit to WDW in October that Disney has really brought out more and some rarely seen characters and I wonder if the expansion has carried over to the ship.

Welcome Back to you all. Thanks for all the reporting you did. And I'm certainly glad the good times far aweighed the bad incidents.

Hey Robin really sounds fun! He wasn't on our cruise!!

Robin is a TRIP!!! He is a lot of fun, and is a great sport. He is on the "vertically challenged" side :teeth: and doesn't mind joking about it. He is from Australia and it is so cute to hear him talk. He made Bingo hysterical (made you not mind giving away so much of your money) and was a hoot for 70's & 80's night and more. He has a couple of breaks coming up over the next year, but he will be on our cruise next October.

I certainly can't wait to go back.

Has anyone ever caught Robin when he plays the "little boy" in the game show Sailor Tales.....I was almost on the floor laughing. He played it so well...even the host, Sean could not keep a straight face during the show. He was awesome!!!

Joann.....that's right, when we cruised in August it was Robin's last cruise before vacation. You came onboard the day we left. Hope he is there for you next time...you will enjoy him!!!

We saw MANY more characters on this cruise, now it could be that we never looked for them on our past two or that we just bumped into them more this time but I didn't recall seeing pluto on our last cruises or captain hook. We saw donald, micky, minnie, goofie, donald, chip/dale, pluto, captain hook, various princesses. They were around all the time.

Hey MJ! Find out if he'll be on my cruise next summer!!!(Aug. 2nd)
