Well, our long-awaited trip is now complete. I think we're hooked. I cannot imiagine going to WDW and not wanting to stay at FW. Here ar some random thoughts, in no particular order:
-I was worried about the internal buses, thinking they would be very confusing. No problems at all. I think the longest we waited for an internal bus was 10 minutes. Usually one pulled up as soon as we got to a bus stop. The nice thing was that since we got on the bus at Settlement, we could ride either orange or yellow to the Meadows pool. That saved us time too.
-We were in loop 200 at site number 227. The walk to the Settlement area was maybe 10 minutes with the kids. I wish they had a path cutting though from 200 to 100 like they have from 100 to the Settlement area. That would be my only thought on how to improve our walk time, which again, was very short anyway.
-We did the campfire one night. Sundee was there. What a trip! The kids loved it! We didn't have snacks or anything, just hung out and sang songs. We only got to meet Chip, but that was ok because the kids had already seen both Chip and Dale at The Garden Grill in Epcot.
-Check-in looked like it would take forever with all the campers lined up, but they were very efficient. We waited maybe 30 minutes. They had no problems adding our additional guests on to our reservation. They couldn't add the people coming half way through though. We had to add them when they arrived. At which time, the reservation had to be redone completely. Paperwork on WDW's en d, no problems on ours.
-The Meadows pool, whicle nothing fancy, suited our family just fine. It really wasn't too crowded at any time. We went there at all time of the day.
I was worried about all the golf-cart stories I have read, but no problems here either. Every golf-cart we encountered gave us the right of way and watched out for the kids.
-I did laundry twice while we were there. No waits on washing machines or dryers, which surprised me.
-Also no waits for showers either. I think one day all of the showers were full when we arrived, but before we could even putour stuff down to wait, people came out and in we went. The restrooms in the 100-200 area were amazingly clean.
-We had take-out from Trail's End when we arrived. The chicken dinner for 4 was more food than we could eat. We also had the dinner buffet at Trail's End... yum!!! No one left hungry. We had a drink (or more LOL) at Crockett's tavern. It was crwded, so we ordered our drinks and sat outside in the rocking chairs under a fan. So relaxing. I had the mudslide BTW. Delicious!
I guess that's all of my random thoughts, for now.
