Okay, as June 11th rapidly approaches, I find myself having more and more questions. I even woke up this morning thinking of questions. :rotfl: I have looked through the sticky up top, but haven't found all of the answers - that thread is getting long. :crowded: So, I'm hoping it's okay to start this one. Anyone else who has questions, please feel free to jump on board!

Like I said - these are very random questions. Just stuff going through my mind. If you have an answer, great!! :thumbsup2

1.) As a PhotoPass Photographer, what kind of shoes will I need to buy? Should I buy them now or wait until I arrive?

2.) Are we allowed to take cameras in with us for check-in and for Traditions and training? As a professional photographer, I love to take pictures of everything!!

3.) Will I have a choice as to where I want to work? I would love to be a photographer with a character.

Okay - that's it for right now.

Thanks!
Michelle

1. Unfortunately, you will have to wait. Based on images I've seen, different locations for photopass have different shoes. Just be prepared for a walmart/payless run once you get there.

2. I would say you can probably bring the camera (I have seen pictures of the check-in/traditions process) but you should be prepared for them to ask that pictures not be taken. Some areas are not allowed to be photographed in order to preserve the magic. Also, I wouldn't bring a camera to training because you will be training... with a camera... taking pictures... lol

Q1) Disney has specific guidelines for the shoes to be used. Reference the Disney look but I think in general you'll have to have all black closed toe shoes. Try and get something comfy since you'll be on your feet a lot

Q2) I'm not sure. As a former cast member I know we were not supposed to take photographs backstage. You could always bring it and put it in your car if you drive there. I'm not 100% sure on this one

Q3) You'd have to talk to your recruiter about it but you've already most likely been placed.

Hope this helps!

:rotfl: :thumbsup2 Good point!! Thank you for your answers! I'm just so used to carrying my camera with me.

Totally makes sense! Thank you for the help!

Once you have your ID (after Traditions, typically the second day you're in Florida) you'll be able to get all your discounts, many of them off Disney property. I bought my work shoes at the Sketchers outlet near housing for 20% off because I had my ID, and it was the best purchase I made! I'm almost positive the Photopass on Main St has white sneakers, so more proof that you should wait till you have your assigned location to purchase your shoes. You'll have plenty of time before you need them, don't worry.

You should be able to photograph everything on check in day (I know everyone was taking pictures at Casting and nobody stopped us) and I don't think you'll have a problem taking photos at Disney University when you're there for Traditions.....but photos are strictly prohibited in all backstage areas, so almost definitely not for your training.

Photopass wears plain white sneakers. I got non-skid nurses shoes at Payless before I came down and added better insoles.

You will be assigned a park, and work at almost all Photopass locations in that park (anything that doesn't require special training), with the ability to pick up shifts in other parks. You'll start shooting icons (the castle, Spaceship Earth), and then get character trained a month or so after that. So you'll be with characters eventually.

Maybe I'll see you at MK!
