ok quick vent... I just don't understand this.

How can you send your kid over to someone's house to swim and NOT pack them a towel OR sunscreen? And it's not just ONE family. I have to supply towels, sunscreen AND snacks/drinks. I don't mind the snacks because they are our guests, but the towels? I am forever washing them it seems. And the sunscreen gets expensive. I buy the spray on kind for my kids and since I have to cover the whole neighborhood we go through several bottles a week!

I am SO with you there! We have an inground pool, and I am constantly lending towels, sunscreen and feeding. Last year I had to make a very strict rule that NO ONE could swim unless they brought an adult to watch them. I had quickly become the babysitter and lifeguard, and no one ever helped me out. I dont mind having kids over, but I do have a few other things to do besides sit poolside. The worst offenders simply stopped coming. I had to be mean a few times when they showed up in swimsuits solo, saying "sorry, unless Mom or Dad comes with you, you can't swim." This year it has not been an issue. There are days I say "pool party" and I watch everyone without accomopanying adults, but mostly the rule sticks. Did we lose a friend or two over it........no, just a freeloader or two.......and I am usually one to completely avoid confrontation, but I couldn't be permanent lifeguard all summer long.

DS hit a HOMERUN!
Woo Hoo (there will be some DH celebrating later, DH is the coach of the team, which just clinched playoff status with this game.

DD's team got mercied....ouch.......
