Dude, what is up with all the hate with the bubble guns. My kids have always loved them. We like pushing the stroller through the cloud of bubbles - it's always fun!
As for the metal dectetors, I'm tossed. On the one hand, it should screen out any crazy idiot trying to do harm at the parks. On the other hand, it also keeps any law abiding concealed carrier from protecting my family should a crazy idiot get through and, god forbid, open fire. Per statistics, the places most prone to gun violence are the places that already outlawed guns or created "no gun zones" to begin with. I've never carried at Disney, but I've always felt safer because I know people who have. But that's just my perspective on things.
