Random Magic Band Questions

I got an email today reminding me to customize my magic bands because they will be shipping in two weeks. My sister's family of 4 are staying with us but none of the kids know about it. Her kids don't even know they are going to Disney World! I had the MB's sent to her address. Her kids are not familiar with them and at ages 6 & 2, it will be very easy for my sister to receive them without the kids knowing. My kids (9 & 11) would easily figure out the surprise if 8 bands showed up here.

So two questions...

First, will they be sent in one box of 8 or two boxes of 4? I would like to have ours ahead of time, but I would like to keep them in a box.

Second, will any, all or none of them have the DVC sliders? We are all on one reservation, but my sister's family are not members.

We just took some friends of ours to WDW on an DVC reservation for a total of 6 in the room. The MB's were sent to my house. We received 2 boxes --- 4 and 2 bands. I was hoping that we would get 3 and 3. You will probably get 4 and 4, but they may be mixed between the two families. They print the names on the box insert below each band, so it makes it hard to have a box for just one family, unless you get lucky enough that your two families are split exactly right.

We did have DVC sliders for all six of us, so you should get 8 sliders.

As to boxing, not sure. We seem to get one box for each band for some reason.

We just got back from a trip with two 2BR exchange units. We got 5 & 3 for the one with 8. ALL got the DVC slider even though they were exchange units and only 3 of the group are true members.

They will be sent in two boxes of 4. However, you will probably have to have her re-arrange which MB are in which box if she is going to forward your bands on to you. I don't know about the DVC slider since that's come around since the last time we went.

She lives about two miles away so rearranging them and getting them to me won't be a problem

The rearranging part...in our experience, the name you put on the inside of the band is also printed on the area where the band is held in the box. So it's a pain when you're trying to give a box of bands to other family members if it wasn't created exactly as you wish it to be created.

Since I don't want to start a new thread, hope no one minds me jumping in here

So we have visited once since MBs and stayed DVC but I think it was right before they started sending the sliders. We got two sets of bands from that trip.

Then we upgraded to APs and after getting home, got our AP MBs with AP sliders.

Just a few days ago, I booked our next trip through DVC. Will that trigger getting the DVC sliders with our next set of bands? (I haven't actually been on MDE recently, maybe that would answer my question).

Yes! I have more bands than I know what to do with. First 4 were red bands, now I just mix up the colors so I can be matchy matchy.

You should receive DVC Sliders with the Resort MagicBands for a DVC Reservation. If there isn't any, you can also ask at the front desk of your resort as they may have some.

I didn't get sliders for a reservation on rented points, but I did get sliders for all my reservations on my own points. I don't think there are tight controls on the process.

Decoration that fits around the band. They might get a CM to remind you about an available discount, but you would still need to show proof of discount and a photo id.

We got one box, 3 bands, 3 sliders. Pretty cool, this is our first time using them. I didnt care so much for planning our Fast passes, although I like to plan, we try to stay flexible in case of rain etc... I think it will be fine.

I just got my bands. First the Passholder one came with a slider. Then a few days later the two for the resort ressie came. But it contained only 1 slider; the DVC Member slider.
