Random acts of kindness...

Being that DL is the happiest place on Earth, I thought it might be cool to see if any of you have had experienced any random acts of kindess while visiting the park... or perhaps you have done something nice for someone else?

I'll go first:

On our last trip, while on the monorail, a family generously gave DD (3 at the time) one of those spinning light things. They said that since they've been to DL and WDW so many times, they thought she should have it!

Even now, a year and a half later, DD recalls the story of how the toy was given to her!

Not sure if this counts, but we had two extra Fastpass tickets for Rockin' that we gave away. We also received 3 sets of the Tinkerbell Fairy dust pins on our last trip and we gave away the pins to people we saw in the park who were sharing the magic or enjoying themselves.

I think that totally counts!

*At the Aladin show, the little girl sitting next to DD and I, wasn't able to see (there was a really tall person sitting in front of her). So I put DD on my lap so the little girl could move over one seat and watch the show w/out difficulty.

*We were stopped by a man asking where we got the "Goofy's Kitchen" pin. I told him that we got it for dining at Goofy's Kitchen and he said that his wife is a HUGE Goofy fan (and apparently he had spent a small fortune on Goofy goods already), so I took off my pin and gave it to him for his wife.

I think the only one we have ever received was checking into the DLH once and a family that was checking out gave us a bunch of $8 balloons they had gotten that morning for their kids but they couldn't take them on the plane.

I like to think I have done a few things. We give away fastpasses all the time if we won't make it back to the ride. I always let little kids sit up front with my kids for parades if we get a good spot!
I have given out lots of diapers and baby wipes to those that found themselves in a bind without one or the other. That always feels good since I know what it's like to be in that spot, lol!

-We were kinda just standin' around Indiana Jones looking at the wait times for Stand-by and a gentleman came up and asked us if we wanted his fastpasses because his son was not tall enough to get on. We looked at the time and it was going to be able to be used in 5 minutes we were so stoked!
-I always let the mommies with the lil girls cut me in line for the bathroom if the lil girl is doing the pee pee dance while waiting.
-If I have extra snacks and there is a lil kid eyeballing my stuff I always ask the adult with them if they can have some.

I'm sure I have been on the receiving end of a random act of kindess in the past, I just can't think of any right now.

I think this is a great idea. I'm going to make sure I do at least one act a day during my March trip to DL. Also get my 9 year old son in on it.

some little girl came up to buy soda from me, but she only had $1.75... so i asked her if she has another dollar and she just stared, so i told her thats okay, just take it... so this one guy whom i was talking to while waiting to the fireworks said "you know what, ill cover that one dollar." And handed me the dollar... even though i insisted on not taking the dollar, he said take it! Then the father of the little girl came by and gave the guy the dollar his daughter owed.

I printed off extra McDonal's coupons already and plan to give them to someone when we're there next month. I figure we'll be eating there more than once (McDs) so might as well help someone else save a few dollars and make them smile

We visited from Australia in 2001, and our travel agent by mistake gave us 8 four day park hopper tickets and we only needed four ,so we gave a family our extra four day hoppers passes on the day we left.

I too have given away unused fastpasses. Soaring and Buzz. The people who got them seemed very happy. During a LONG wait for Fantasmic to start, I had extra LiteStix and they kept a number of kids and parents happy during the wait.

DD and I each got two 1st time visiting buttons and gave away a set to a woman with two daughters who were riding Peter Pan. (it was their 1st visit too!).

There were a bunch of people going by with dream fast passes and we stopped 2 kids and asked them where they got them.They handed us their 2 passes for CA.They couldn't go over there without the rest of their group.See,there are nice kids in this world still.

CM's do their fare share as well.A member of the dream team gave my DD5 a balloon apple he made to go with her snow white dress she had on.She caried it everywhere like it was a golden apple.Another CM gave her a pin she was searching for even though she left her lanyard at the hotel.There was CM that let a little girl have a soda without having enough money-Albort-good job.

We ate one morning at Minnie and friends and got some balloons.We had no where to put them since we don't use a stroller.I had my girls go give them to families with strollers.They had such a good time finding some to give them to.

Next time we go I'm going to try to find something to do for someone else besides giving them a smile and being polite.

On our last trip, our first morning we were at McDonald's waiting in line to get breakfast, and a CM was there (doing the same) He chatted with my dd 6 and then gave her some stickers, Mickey, Minnie and gang. It started our trip off great.....

We've given our fastpasses away several times as well.

One time dd bought a ballerina Minnie plush doll. Well I left it on HM once. She was riding in one buggy ahead with Dh and I was with ds following them. Well, she asked if Minnie could sit with me because she thought her brother might need it to help him not be scared. Too sweet. We get off and my son jumps out quickly ahead of me and falls down. i'm distracted so I jump off to grab him and leave Minnie. ONce we got him calmed down and up out of the ride she asked where Minnie was. We went back to the CM's and they hadn't found her yet. We waited for the buggies to have enough time to come full circle and still no Minnie. Since this was my fault and she was such a good big sister for letting her brother keep Minnie we bought her another one. This was hours later after checking again at HM and lost and found. 2 days later we go to lost and found to see if they had dh jacket he left in a restaurant (bad trip for losing things) and they had the jacket and I just asked if they had the Minnie plush well they did and said it was found in HM a couple days earlier so now dd had 2. She had been carrying around that new one for 2 days so we weren't going to return it obviously so we put them in the bottom of the stroller. When we were on Pirates that day she noticed a little girl about 3 looking at the Minnie telling her mom how cute it was. Her mom said they couldn't get that because it was too much money. When we got off the ride dd gave one of hers to that little girl. She started crying she was so happy and the mom was tearful too saying they could only afford to come in the park one day but told her daughter no souvies since getting in took all the extra spending money they had. I was so proud of her

We also gave our desserts to the family sitting next to us, not eaten of course. We had ordered dessert for each of us but it took awhile for it to come and by the time they got to the table our food had settled and we knew we couldn't eat another bite without being sick. One of those moments where your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Well, before they put them down we asked the family next to us if they were interested in them and we had the waiters bring it to their table.

We are making a week long trip starting Feb 11th for my Granddaughters 3rd birthday. I bought a case of See's candy bars (25 in total) and am going to wrap a paper band around them with the words Thanks for making my Birthday special. She can then give them out to CMs that help us through the week. I believe it is good for her to learn to give happiness to others even if it just is a candy bar.

Ditto on the Fastpasses…..

One hot day at WDW we stopped to get a lemonade. When I went to pay, I handed the CM enough money to pay for ours and the father and daughter that were behind us that were talking about getting lemonade also.

There have a few CM’s that have thrown pixie dust our way.

Can't say we've given away fastpasses, lol, we always use them all up.

But my son has been the recipient of trading pins more than once. A few CM's have given him extra pins during a trade and a few guests have done the same.

I gave away a Stitch lanyard to a birthday boy who was telling me he loved Stitch.

I've walked up to people and offered to take photographs for them. You know when you see Mom and Dad switch off and there's no photopass person around?

We always take extra VMK quest print outs. And offer up answers to the in park quests.

And I consider the knowledge I give as an act of kindness. Like explaining the whole fastpass system or telling Mom's of the baby care center.

I always like random acts of kindness. One CM saw I was by myself and let me sit in the premium viewing area for the fireworks at the train station - I was at the back, and she made sure first that there was extra room. I thought that was really nice.

When I used to get the kids the glow necklaces, I always got a couple of extras and had them give them to someone who looked like they could use one. We gave away a spinning light once. When we sit and wait for parades, I tend to put younger children in front of me (w/their parents' permission, of course) so they're up & close. We had two extra tix to Fantasmic Premium Seating, so I found a parent w/two children, who happened to be there their last night from Canada, and gave them the tickets. There were two parents, so the mom told the dad to take the kids. After the show, the dad went to get the mom to watch the fireworks with them, and I told the kids they should thank their mom for watching the show all by herself so they could watch it while enjoying desserts. The CMs let her have dessert afterwards, too - that was nice.

My kids & I were in front row watching the Snow White show from up top, and there were these two little girls crying because there were too many people and they couldn't see the show. Again, this family was from out of town, and it was their last night. I offered to let the girls sit at our table with us, and so they did - we got them light necklaces and they loved the show. Their parents came and grabbed them right after it was over (understandable cuz it was so crowded), and I don't think they ever said thank you - but those girls' faces were lit up - so happy, and that's what was important to me... There've been others, but then people do nice things for me.

Like the time that Tink33 called me up and asked if I wanted to join her at an "Event" that included breakfast at Club 33, then listen to talks from 2 of the original Disneyland Imagineers, and the daughter of one. That is something I'll never forget.

Wow, that is some act of kindness, what a friend she is!

My daughter did receive a very nice Belle pin from a nice lady who noticed she was princess pin collector. She had two boys and had been hanging onto that one for a "special princess". It made my dd's day since she had lost a pin off her lanyard earlier.

I have given fastpasses away many times but one time sticks out. We gave a dad and his daughter two extras we had for Space Mountain She had finally gotten the courage to ride but the standby was 60 minutes and they were out of fp's. I noticed them debating whether to wait in that long line and remembered I had my brother's fp's still and he had left the park already. They ended up sitting behind us and it was so fun to hear that little girl enjoying her first ride on Space.

O.K this was almost 3 years ago, but I am still pretty proud of us. We were eating by space mountain at the pizza port place. It was like 7p.m. This family of 5 sits down at the table next to us. I heard the boy who at the time was probably my son's age or a little older (my ds at the time was 5) He asked his mom and dad for pizza cause he was hungry. I could hear the parents arguing about how it was their last night, and they didn't know food was so much and they were out of money. They had enough to buy 2 drinks for them all to share. That's when I heard the girl probably 1o years old say "we don't get dinner?. And her mom said honey we have no money left, I'm so sorry. And I could tell the mom was starting to cry. I couldn't take it. I bought a large and a medium pizza for just the 3 of us. We had only eaten the medium pizza, so I turned around and told the mom "it's o.k. you can all have this, it hasn't even been touched, there's enough for all of you". She started crying. We just got up and smiled and walked away. I never felt better.
