Ranch's Quests/ Virutal Disney World Quests

Ranch, I love your quests. They are indeed challenging. Extreme Quest is the ultimate for sure. Just getting through the first task will be difficult for many I think. But you gotta love a challenge, right?

I will give it another go today for Extreme Challenge, I can't wait.

By the way, thanks for playing a round of fireworks with me yesterday, that was fun.

I love all of Ranch's quests. Except the newest one. When I looked at the description, I thought OK, I can give it a try. When I saw the first task, I immediately quit. lol
There is no way that I can get that high of a score. :teeth:

And a tip for the adventureland quest: Where do You have a pirate ship?

Just a few observations...

Did the mansion quest yesterday. Was fairly easy. No complaints and fun.

Adventureland Quest - did it the other day. Had multiple problems with the number of other people also doing it. Went through the ride to collect the jewel at the end. The first time, I got bumped to a door 3/4 of the way through. The second time, I collected the jewel, but then took the teleporter to get out of the way of some other people. Of course I got one of the trivia questions wrong, so had to go through the ride a third time. Unfortunately, I learned that it doesn't pay to get out of the way of others. :( Made it through to the end, and thought I had the clue figured out. Went to play mini-game. Win the game - decent score 10K+ - nothing happens. Well it didn't say anything about a minimum score, so I must have the clue wrong. Try another mini-game. Try visiting Blackheart. Try going back to the pirate ride to see if I missed something. Ask in the lobby. Told that it is mini-game. Try again - score 15K+ - nothing happens. Go back to the lobby and ask again. Keep trying, I'm told. Next game - score 19K+ - finally finish quest. My only suggestion is to let people know what the minimum score is, or they won't know they have the clue right. Either make it a cryptic clue with a low score, or a non-cryptic clue with a high score - not both.

Tried to do the Frontierland Quest. Too many people were doing it, so got stuck on the clover maze. People were getting nasty, telling others to move!, etc., so I just gave up on that one for now.

Started the Expert Quest. Thought I should give it a try. (I actually signed on to this one a few days ago, but quit to play other quests) Last night I was having a good fireworks game, and managed to beat the score on the first task. Excellent, I thought! Good Work. Next task - fireworks magic in 30 seconds or less. Not wearing it - 300 pins to look through and find it. :( I bet you can guess that I couldn't find it in time. Now I have to start over. Maybe either increase the time to 1 minute or more, or let people know which pins they should be wearing to start the quest. (Although I suppose this quest is designed to make you go back and repeat steps to make sure you aren't getting fluke scores - I would be interested in your thinking on this one)

So, overall enjoyable - and I keep coming back, so I guess that's the litmus test. Thanks for all your hard work in setting up the quests.

Though you make a valid point on that task, I pretty much gave the farm on the first two days of the engines arrival to VMK. Don't get me wrong, I still got plenty to share with quest winners, but that Adventureland quest engine is normally the first to empty out of prizes, and that was with the tricky question. From there I was prompted to lift the required score amount from 6,000 to about three times that amount. :woohoo:

Totally! Even I get confused in the Virtual Big Thunder ride! And it was built way before room limits were imposed in VMK, so alot of the rooms on that ride are way over limit and can dc a rider if they do anything beyond clicking chairs (opening the guest rooms list or using magic)!

I'm sorry, I gotta correct you on the quest title.. it's not the experts quest it's the, "Extreme Quest!". I know I'm not the best gamer in VMK, but I can get 260,000 in fireworks fairly easily, get 65 ghosts easily given no dc's, max out at 35,000 in the Cruise game, and get an endless score with good help in pirates. Of course, by looking at the top score lists, there are "Experts" out there who would totally dominate my little quest and would probably result in mule'n it hard. So in order to win bat magic and desired pirate quest couches, you gotta get extreme! :thumbsup2

Thank you for this great review! Enjoyed it!

Uh, sorry to be a bother again, but for that tip, I tried going to MY ship in pirates of the Cariibbean game and won twice already! I dont even know if that is the right pirate ship though. But I tried going to all three pirate ships in adventureland!

1. pirates of the caribbean game
2. discovery island
3. the pirate treehouse

im pretty sure that its the game, but am i suposed to get a specific score? i score pretty high... :confused3

Sorry about getting the title wrong. Out of the mini-games, fireworks is probably the one I'm (relatively) worst at. Haven't tried much for a high score recently, but 260,000 is about the highest I've ever scored. I was frustrated that I finally beat it and then lost on an "easy" task (of course not easy with the time limit)

To increase my frustration, I have been working on it again this morning. Scored over 260,000 once, only to disconnect while tallying the final scores (ie: didn't get the quest credit). Then, again I was scoring well enough to get 260,000 and again disconnected in Round 5.

This is going to kill me, but I intend to finish it! I like a challenge. :thumbsup2

I'm glad! And since I don't, and I really don't want to test that quest... ever again.. I'm going to award the first winner of it with more loot! :thumbsup2

Ranch, I'm so, so impressed with your quests. I played a bit of the Frontierland one Friday before I had to go out of town, and those rooms of yours are amazing. Today I tried my hand at the Extreme Quest. After many hours of trying, I finally got over 260,000! Only the 2nd time ever, too! But then I got stuck in the 3rd task (couldn't find the item). I'll keep trying though; I love a challenge. :woohoo: Thanks for all your hard work! :wizard: It's been a lot of fun so far, and maybe it'll help me get enough practice on fireworks to get that darned green car in the other quest, LOL.

Hey thanks, Donald!! :cool1:

I want to start changing the quests and their themes up soon, so if you haven't tried them all out you better hurry gang! Plus in about a week or so I'm anticipating on meeting up with a buddy of mine in WDW who will have get this... 10 people with her.. that's quite a few rapid couch sections that are going to be up for grabs soon! Don't worry though, I'll make it exciting to obtain them! But that's only the begining of the quest, it's gonna be neat watching winners trying to haggle each other's rapid sections! :lmao:

I, too, have loved your quests. They are very well done. I have finished all except the Extreme Quest - I finally hit 240,000 for the first time last week so I have a bit more practice before I can try that.

The most frustrating is the maze quest because of the backlog of people who don't keep moving. I finally finished that one by trying in the morning when not many people were in there.

Thanks for all your efforts.

Could someone give me a hint on the gem in the Adventureland quest (Music Room location)? I've been over and over (and over!) the entire room, and nothing's there. I'm wondering if it's my computer (it doesn't always show me the gems, hidden mickeys, etc. for some reason) or if I'm just missing it. :confused3

Can someone please help me? I'm on the Adventure quest or whatever and I need help finding the gem in the tiki tiki bird room. Anyone Know?

P.S. The Gem in the music lobby is up by the two drums in the corner closest to the big record on the ground. I think that's where it was. But if not just keep searching cause u cant see the gem but its hidden good.

I'm not too much for using the timed quest selection, but I'm thinking of running an engine, timed for the entire day, and whoever can finish with the best time gets something EXTREME! :rolleyes1

Ranch, new lobby looks great and should help the congestion in the room.

I hope you still have Extreme running! I am more than half way now and I am determined to finish it! LOL, I don't even care about a prize now, I just want to finish it. LOL :rotfl2:
