Is anyone doing Ranch's quests? I am still stuck on the last part of the adventureland quest! His are very hard to finish, at least for me... :confused3 oh yeah and the room name is - Virtual Disney World Quests -

I did the haunted mansion quest today too. :teeth: . It took me forever to finish it because i didn't know the answer to the question right when you sit down and do the trivia. I think i had to go through it about 5 or 6 times. I finally completed it and i won an extra titi pin. I might do another quest today but i don't know. There was one quest i had managed to finish and the owner wasn't on the game when i had to go back into the room and do the last question. :furious: . I kept looking for him and finally gave up.

A new quest has arrived to the -VDWQ- park to showcase the park's latest attraction!

If you're not sick of quests yet today, come try out:

The Jungle Book Quest!

Hi Ranch! I gotta say, after the past 4 days, I will be so happy to get back to challenging but fun quests like yours. Not once has any of yours left me feeling like I might harm my computer; can't say the same for VMK's quests! Thanks for all you do; it's appreciated more than you know! :goodvibes

Wow man.. great post, thanks!

It's my guess that about 35% of the visitors that come to -VDWQ- are well capable of troubleshooting and solving the quests, and those comments are a sweet reminder that that's life. In other words, now I don't feel so bad for those who think it's more productive to stand there and say, "where gem where owner" rather then actually searching.

Yesterday, I came into to the lobby to unload a crazy amount of space suits I've gathered for the engines (wanted posters are coming back! just need to code them!) and this little girl came in with the eventual questing response of, "where gem plz plz". After explaining to her that it would not be fair to my current winners to just give out answers and clues when those winners got none, she continued with that if you do quests you need to stay and help.

I mean, lets forget the fact that I've spent 120,000 credits on engines to simply give stuff away, spent countless hours gathering stuff to give away and having park builders help do the same, and the countless hours spent racking my brain to create half-way decently themed quests. With the team of builders that open the park whenever possible, that lobby can and has remained opened in the past from opening to closing in VMK. The little one's reply to such efforts and hours was, "so".

So after arguing back and forth with this stuborn lazy girl, I had realized then that she was there to represent the other 65% of questers who could care less about the efforts, and would much rather have a hand out. After such conclusions, I was ready to close the engines and just get back to old school VMK fun, but that would not be fair to the people that have backed and built the park from day 1.

This thread has made much of the efforts well worth the annoyances and irritations that come with the territory of quest hosting, on behalf of the entire build team of -VDWQ-, we THANK YOU ALL that have come and enjoyed the park and it's enjoying for us to read and hear that you did!

:thumbsup2

Actually it's "gal," but that's okay, you're forgiven. Many DISers have made that mistake, and you give great prizes for all of your quests (even if the Pirates one did take me, I believe, 300+ hours to finish :lmao: ), so I can't hold a grudge against you! ;)

I have to say that I have enjoyed your quests so much. I even have guided my young son through some when he gets stuck and he loves them also.

I hope the space quest is still there - it's the only one I haven't finished yet - Just couldn't find the atom in the space gate?? But I will keep trying if it comes back! I love the challenge and the sense of accomplishment. The prizes are really secondary to me.

Thanks for all your work.

I love hearing when this happens! In our house hold, we all gawk at our computer screens and are so caught up in our little worlds, moments like that here are about as rare as green flips! Gotta love Walt's work!

if anyone has a new quest suggestion for the park by all means, lay it on me. I've been hoping for underwater themed room furniture (like sea plants and fish of some kind, probably will never happen) to expand the park, but for now we're depending on the classics like -VHM- to keep the park forever entertaining.

do you all suggest challenging quests with sweet prizes, or shorter (easier) ones through the -VDWQ- park only with minimal prizes?

Win Teleport Magic today in Virtual Disney World Quests' newest quest, "Space Pirates Race Quest!". Use the "Space Mountain Race Engine" coffin to access the new race quest lobby!! Good luck matey! :thumbsup2

It's kind of difficult to finish a quest when you can't get back in the quest lobby..then you run out of time and it pushes you back even more but you still can't catch up because the room is not in the room list.

I've quit Ranch's quests many times because of this frustration.
out of all the quests offered, I've only completed one. (Jungle Book)

Alot of times if the lobby isn't showing on the published room list, I search "ranch" and it usually pops up. But I can see this being a problem for questers because of the park aging and all. That, and the team that built the place average about a half hour, an hour, of sit time to keep it open. You can only bare so many "what yeti mean"'s "where gem"'s "who owner"'s "who baloo?"'s a day!

Considering the engines have changed up about two times each since their purchase, that's not a good track record girl!! :rolleyes1

I like to showcase the brand new ideas and projects that we come up with here with our DIS friends, and with that, I'm offering (I think I have before) to build a DIS link room to the park for any and all DIS quest fanatics, and fans of the -VDWQ- park! To get linked up and have access to all current and upcoming quests and "park events" we may have, we'll need to meet up. Once meeting up with me, you'll need to say, "Here dis my coffin", and provide the purchase of the linked set and I'll have you linked up in no time flat! I hope this can relieve any fusturations for anyone whom might be interested, as well as keeping the park alive and as good as the classics!
