We stayed here the 12th thru the 16th for the first time. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I thought you guys might be interested in our stay.
The good
-We requested a remodeled room and got it. New carpet, curtains, and furniture, with a new tub, sink and tile in the bathroom. My brother was there too and didn't request a remodeled room. His was quite rundown and not very clean.
-Our room was in the front of the complex, so it was a super easy, quick walk to the parks.
The bad
-Checkin and check out were a bit of a hassle. The preauthorized our card for one night's stay a few days before we arrived, then for the remainder of the stay, plus, upon arrival, then charged it separately upon checkout. So, at one point I had three pending charges for more than twice the amount of our stay. We shall see how it all shakes down with final posting. The staff was rather rude about the entire thing when I questioned their policy.
-The pool was no where completed despite the fact that they had claimed it would be done by April 8th. When we checked in, they had a date for completion advertised for this up coming week. There is no way they will make that date either. They are seriously behind. Nothing was offered to compensate except you could use a neighboring hotel pool.
-This is not a quiet motel, even for Harbor. The Restaurant next that shares the parking lot, Tony Romo's I think, gets deliveries very early in the morning, so you hear the trucks and their is an alarm on the storage room that goes off every time they open it. Depending on how slow they are to turn it off it can be going off for quite some time. This happens at all hours, day and night.
The ok
-Breakfast consists of donuts, toast, hardboiled eggs, whole fruit, sometimes a pastry and cereal. Cornflakes is the staple. There is also milk and apple and orange juices. Definitely nothing to write home about, but it filled the void until we picked something up in the parks. Keep in mind its supposed to be served pool side, which didn't exist, so the little hut was very crowded.
Will we go back? No. We will pay less to stay at Anaheim Plaza without the preauthorization issues and better service when we can't get the HOJO Ent rate. Maybe it would have been better if I had never seen the yet to be remodeled rooms and the pool was complete? Either way, we have crossed it off our list.
