Ralph Lauren Dress

I think some people are trying to turn this thread in a different direction. However it is about a dress. I didn't know that commenting on a FLOTUS' dress would be considered a political statment, here I thought it was just a fashion statement.

So any model or actress who has been photographed nude can't have family values?

They aren't running for office or married to someone running for office on a platform built on family values.
She wasn't an erotic model, so yes, artistic.
Then you haven't seen one photoshoot from before her marriage with her and the other gal. It wasn't shot for Vanity Fair. ;)

I guess if you equate artistic nudity to lack of family values....
You may not have seen all of her photos. The one with the other nude woman was what I would call pornographic. I am OK if that is family values or business as usual to others but it way crossed a line to me.

It was absolutely pornographic and what made her Mrs. T number three.

Wait... posing naked on a jet, handcuffed to a briefcase is artistic? I must have been absent that day in art class? lol

If this is

Then a naked woman on a jet handcuffed to a briefcase can be.

Nobody is saying that. Of course putting on a cashmere dress with a retro coat and gloves hardly makes one suddenly classy or in the same league as Jackie Kennedy.
Exactly! I am amazed at the length posters here and elsewhere are going to equate the two women. It is actually so mind boggling to hear the justifications that is hard to read it without seeing the obvious political agenda behind it.

I'm not equating her to Jackie O (and I refer to her as Jackie O because that is who she was when I was born). I am equating the style of her dress with that of Jackie's style. But I guess, some will read what they want because of their own political agenda.

Yep. Trying to get it locked I still can't get over, how many are hung up on nudity.

Yep. Decades of "famliy values" slogans kind of fly out the window right about now.

To be fair, I think some people are capable of making a distinction between discretions of youth & how one conducts themselves as a very prominent person in the here & now. :)

She was in her thirties with the handcuff, nude, Trump jet pictures. Not a misguided youth.

While I don't disagree, I'm also seeing a few who are going to great lengths to dispute the comparison. I'm not sure who is pot & who is kettle here, but they're both black ;)

I also loved her dress and thought she looked gorgeous. Her dress for the balls were pretty too, but I really loved Ivanka's. I saw Tiffany's dress for the Thursday dinner and thought it was beautiful as well!

When you're my age, 30ish is still "young" LOL.

But, right to the point, it's not like she's doing it NOW. And without getting too political, you're trying to connect some dots here that don't really make a picture.
