Good restaurant?

Good Muisc?????

Good for kids?????

Is there theming?

How is the music?????

I very much enjoyed my first and only visit to this restaurant! It is a little pricey but the food was great! My mom and I split an app, an entree, and dessert and had plenty of food! As for children- it's not as themed as much as the Rainforest so if they are wanting to be stimulated it might not be such a great idea. I thought the atmosphere was great and did see tables with kids there. Of course, I don't have kids so perhaps I don't have enough experience to be helpful. I really don't remember the music. There was no live entertainment, I went during off hours. Is there supposed to be live music?

I have also only eaten here once and I don't have kids. But we liked our food very much, the portions were big (we wished we had split something instead). It was pretty loud but we didn't see live music either. The area we sat in was open to the outside so we got the noise from inside and from DD. But we didn't mind. It was themed "New Orleans jazz style" but it is not over the top, just nice. It was expensive and if you are there on the weekend it can be a long wait. But overall we enjoyed our food. My husband got some sort of chicken dish with a side of grits and the grits were sooo yummy.

The Girls Getaway group from here ate there this past Thursday. The food was amazing. I saw some families there that seemed to be having a nice time. I had the drunken chicken and it was awesome. There were 18 of us there so there should be a lot of opinions about the food they all got.

The double chocolate bread pudding is a must-do dessert for chocoholics. It's individually baked - takes 20 minutes from time of order.

Ok--so I was with the Ladies only trip last Thursday too and I agree that the food is very good . . . but this was my second trip there and I have been underwhelmed overall.

The first time was for my birthday--they had closed the bottom portion for a private party and crowded everybody else upstairs. They tried to sit us outside with no heaters (and it was COLD) and got snippy when I indicated that my 77-year old Mom could not sit out in weather in the 60's. (I believe half of their seats are outside. Which is great in the summer evenings--not so great in cold weather.)

We felt very mistreated by the staff (they didn't even offer a birthday dessert and it was clear it was my birthday--and they did to the table next to us--I think our waiter was overworked). We also had to ask to have coffee and water refills. We had a pretty big bill too--drinks, appetizers and entrees for all.

I thought our waitress on Thursday was very good but obviously struggled with the bills--she was nice enough to put everyone's meal on a separate check but it took FOREVER. We were probably delayed a good 45 minutes waiting on the checks to get sorted out. (That's prime park time people!) I did leave her a large tip on my bill for her (she was very sweet--just a bit disorganized) but thought the management should have handled the process better.

So--the food is good, the ambiance is hit or miss in my opinion (depending on where you are seated) so overall I think if I went again I would make sure as to where and what seating was available before I went. (They didn't tell me when I made the birthday dinner reservation that the downstairs was sold out for the evening.)

We ate there with our kids and really enjoyed it...our kids enjoy going out to eat, it is a real treat for them. I have to say, it probably would depend on where you are sitting. We ate upstairs on the outside balcony, so the atmosphere was really nice, like we were part of the energy of DTD.
The food was good, the portions are large, and we shared meals and an appetizer. My DDs shared a kids meal, as they weren't that hungry.
The atmosphere is nice and while it is not exactly kid friendly, it is not kid unfriendly either. There was no live music when we were there.
We spent a whole week at DLR, so we had the opportunity to try a lot of the DTD restaurants. They were all positive experiences for our family. :thumbsup2

I was another who ate here on the Girl's Trip. It was good, but I was expecting wow. The steak I had was really good. But I did think it was a bit pricey. The waitress was a bit stessed I think from the large party and check splitting. Like Toocherie stated, it was almost 45mins from the time we finished till we left. Way too long. The theming was ok I guess. I wasn't wowd by the place. I would probably give it another try though.

We too have eaten there with our 2 DD (Aged 8 and 5). The girls loved it even after just getting off a plane after 15 hours.

The theme is subtle New Orleans feel with decore to match amd plenty of balcony seating and background jazz music. We had an ouside seat on the upper balcony and was great watching the sights of DTD.

I love the place but that is because they have a few of my favorite dishes. The theme is not over the top, but I like it. The music is in the bottom dining room with the bar. It can get loud in there but not terribley loud. They have some amazing Jazz musicans in there.

I have been lucky to have had great service except for one trip a few years back. It can be hard when they only have the patios open but I love it so much outside I just prepare and always have a jacket. It is so pretty to sit out and watch the people and fireworks!

I will be honest I think we were lucky they split the check like they did for 18 individuals, my old place wouldn't do more then 8. I think it as just rare to have to do so many and their system was a little stupid, not being able to apply discounts to each check. But it was worked out in the end, besides I had great people to chat with and a drink to finish haha!!:rotfl:

And always save room for dessert I think Jazz Kitchen has the best desserts (excluding the BB cookie boat) in the park!

We just ate there with our kids, 2 and 5, last week. The kids loved the food, and so did we. Live jazz musicians, who were really good. It was loud, but the kids were boggieing away! :rotfl:  We also got to watch a server do the banan flambe, which was cool. My son had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, my daughter had the kids cornflake chicken, and my husband and I shared the filet mignon. Garlic bread for an appetizer and beignets for dessert.

This is me on my fiance's account, and we ate there right after he proposed to
me at Disneyland :) I was still in shock and the dinner was a little bit of a blur.
The ambience is great in the restaurant and we ate on the second floor near
the atrium. It was nice in warm outside so it was great. I have to agree with
alot of the people that have been there, the food portions were pretty big. The
food was delicious though.

When we ate for dinner there was a band that was playing. It was a young punk
band and I was a little irritated by it because the place is called a Jazz Kitchen
and these guys were performing cover to an Earth Wind & Fire song (which was terrible).

I say go for the food, maybe the music will be good for you when you go.

We ate there last year with the all 3 kids {youngest DD slept the whole time, so it was even better} and we really enjoyed it! The only thing was, we were sitting outside {Mar} and it was a little chilly and we didn't have sweatshirts, but other than that, the food and service was WONDERFUL...our bill though was $150 {including our tip} so we only ate there once

We ate there last year with our two kids. The food was amazing. There wasn't any real entertainment that I remember, but I was not uncomfortable with my children here.
