We have always thought the Ralph Brennan Beignets were better than those at The Mint Julep...and being beignet lovers, we often get both in a single trip! : )

Ok, Ralph Brennan’s are real beignets. While comparing them to Cafe Du Monde is setting yourself up for disappointment, they are in the same ballpark and usually very good.

The Mickey “beignets” in the park are a delightful treat, but they’re not really beignets. That’s like comparing authentic Mexican food to Taco Bell. You get a Mickey beignet because you want a Mickey beignet, not because you want a beignet-beignet.

You’ll need to eat both on your trip, obviously… 😆

I think both are best eaten warm. If you take them to the car, or wait to eat them at home, you will be disappointed. I wish I could speak to the comparison with Cafe du Monde. One day...

Never been to cafe du monde, but there is no comparison between jazz kitchen and mint julep.

Jazz kitchen is so much better

When my husbands asks WHY, I'm going to cite this post!! I think trying BOTH makes perfect sense! Thanks!

I think that Jazz Kitchen may use Cafe du Monde mix for making their beignets, and I think they may sell it as well. As an FYI, you can buy it at World Market. A mix is never going to replicate freshly made beignets, but they're still a hit with my family! I do love the ones at JK but not a big fan of the ones in the park.

Edited to say that JK makes them from scratch in the restaurant and they just sell the mix there as well. If I'm allowed to post it, there's a great article on the Disney Food Blog about them. https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013...gnets-at-ralph-brennans-jazz-kitchen-express/

I'm the opposite, I've been to Cafe du Monde and tried their beignets but haven't tried the ones at Disneyland yet. We'll try both DLR locations in our July visit.

When I was in New Orleans, the best was finishing up doing a graveyard ghost tour at midnight and then directly cross the street to Cafe du Monde and have a cup of coffee and fresh baked warm beignets!

Recently Ralph Brennan’s has started seasonal glazed beignets! I had the snickerdoodle one and OMG, heaven! They had a Bananas Foster version this spring and right now have a fruity cereal. At the actual restaurant you can still get the Bananas Foster and also the Beignet Cocktail (with a mini beignet on a skewer)!

I also agree Ralph Brennan’s is better than Mint Julep. Though the fall cinnamon sugar beignet from Mint Julep is pretty good!

100% agree with this. We had both this trip and the Mickey ones are fun, but the JK ones are far superior.

This is making me hungry, but we are gluten free so no beignets or churros. :sad:Now I'm looking up GF beignet recipes and found one that claims to be better than Disney World ones.
