Raise your hand if booked 8/30 after the vaccination requirement

I was talking with a CM today and she said a bunch of people who can no longer sail after 9/3 due to vaccination status are trying to reschedule onto the 8/30 sailing. She was concerned they don’t have time for testing, etc. Raise your hand if you jumped ship!

Hand raised for being a member of "those who will not be able to sail". We are not rescheduling though. It's so disappointing. I'm trying not to be upset for with the member of my sailing party of two who refuses to get vaccinated.

I‘m so sorry. I’m sure you must be incredibly frustrated. I hope they will change their mind eventually - and stay healthy in the meantime.

I’m raising my hand. I’m glad to hear it might be a semi full cruise. We got our negative Covid test results back today so we’re good to go.
I booked last Friday when the announcement was coming I kind of saw the writing on the wall. My family has had Covid and we’re in no hurry for the vaccine.

Unfortunately they don’t give VACCINATED people that option. Especially since we’re considered a non-impacted sailing.

Well, you’re impacted now- that’s a bummer. Given how flexible they’ve been around covid, I would expect them to move you if you ask. If you tried and they won’t, ugh.

Yes but no. Dh wouldn't stop me from going, but I couldn't do it. If it was a Carnival cruise, probably, but Disney Cruises are way too special in our family.

Thank you for your compassionate reply. Yes, I am incredibly frustrated with my dh right now, but I have to respect that he is just as convinced of his point of view as I am with mine. We had a booking with Carnival, but they cancelled our reservation (6 wks out) because they had met their 5% non-vaccinated quota for that sailing. With that door shut in our face, I suggested to dh we keep the flights we booked for the cruise and do a road trip to the Keys instead. He was pretty psyched about that but was over the moon when I told him I found a 4-day Disney cruise that works with our flight dates perfectly and required testing but not vaccination. I was too. Getting the email about the change in policy was a painful blow but there are, of course, much worse things in life right now.
