Raise/Target Redcard megathread gone?

Am I just terrible at searching, or did the big "Save 12%" with Raise/Redcard megathread get deleted?

There was a thread last week about someone losing a 1k on stolen gift cards from a site similar to raise. Many were suspecting it was in Targets end. Wonder if that had anything to do with if it might have gotten deleted? Does seem a bit risky and i am all about the gift card savings but that one got me questioning the best ways to go about it.

I had a lot of success with this method, in the $1000's, as did a lot of other people....

...that being said, I did order a restaurant gift card from a site other than raise, and when I tried to use it, it had a zero balance. The refund process is predictably arduous, no resolution yet. I think the lesson for me is to only use e-gift cards you plan on depositing in your online account immediately.

The main Disney Gift Card deals thread is still on the Budget Board and it has all the instructions (and more) for doing the same thing.

I've only gotten bum cards from Raise and they pretty quickly refunded my money. I definitely wouldn't call it arduous. I'm sorry you had an issue. Was it through Raise? I've found them to be very responsive.

i bought probably $3000 worth of target cards through raise and had no problem with any. then i bought the disney cards at target with no problem. usually in $100 increments. one time i did 2 $300 transactions. with no problem.

but someone did post that they did a $2000 transaction and got banned from target.com...not sure why or how.

I noticed it missing a few weeks ago. Also lately target gc at a good percentage off have been hard to come by on raise and cardpool. Raise has a lot for 0 off or like 0.2 cardpool Has been out a lot lately. I've been buying them at like $50-100 now where before you could buy pretty much whatever you wanted. Also target has been out of $100 Disney gc for over two weeks. Hope that's not a sign they are going to stop carrying them.

The best Raise price I have seen lately is 0.9% and I check regularly and usually but at 5% or more. I haven’t bought any in awhile....

I wasn't posting there. But I had a similar experience two weeks ago. Bought $1500 in target cards from one of these sites in January. I was one of the unlucky folks that was banned from buying gift cards online from Target. Checked in March and $1200 of my gift cards had disappeared one day.

Luckily the website refunded it 100%

I thought I was obsessed with DCL.

I was always fascinated with the Target / save 5% GC threads.
I'm always for saving $$, but the Target thing with GC and such sounded like a lot of work.

Of course I don't shop at Target so .... although nearby, so ...

And Target only offering $50 DCL GC seemed ironic considering DCL cost at least 3-10K.
That is a lot of GC's.
And you have to keep track of the GC, just in case, ....

It just never made sense for us, time wise I suppose. Of course, you all rock on! ! !
You all are dedicated and tough shoppers. I praise you for your dedication, perseverance for a discount, and sharing your knowledge.

I only get the Target GC to buy the Disney ones. Those other sites sound a bit risky to me and way too much trouble. Plus, I only get enough Disney cards to use as an OBC to cover a cabana, etc. No flaming from me.

They have undisclosed limits of how many gift cards you can buy per day. I think the threshold for the $50 gift cards was 5 a day. But if you cross that threshold they assume you are a re-seller and will ban you.

I can tell you that I got banned from target too. I got to aggressive and made something like 20 orders for GCs one day. All of the orders were canceled and I didn't know why. I then read from a few other people that were identified in target's system as suspected resellers, which is apparently a no-no to target. Their accounts were suspended from buying online, and tried all kinds of avenues to talk to someone at target to get their account restored - and could never find a way to do it. Every person said they couldn't do it, and referred them to another area, who couldn't do it, and referred them, and it ended up being a cycle.

So I never even tried to get my account restored. I'm still sitting on several thousand $$ of target cards that I'll need to use sometime. I will probably try to create a new account and see if that works, and if not I'll just buy them in store.
