"Rainy Day" ideas........

Rainy Days = shorter lines!!!

Buy a poncho and keep on going, whats the difference between swimming in a pool and 'swimming' in the rain???

It always confused me why people are afraid of the rain, your cloths will dry...eventually!

Rainy day ideas for my family:

Head to a water park - never seems to rain all day and when it does stop, you will have the slides and other things all to yourselves!

Take the opportunity to tour a resort you've always wanted to see.

Disney Quest

Outlet Shopping

If you stay in a hotel with exercise equipment, now might be the time to use it!

If rain is in the forecast, plan on Epcot, plenty of covered areas there.

Go to the movies

Search for hidden Mickeys and have a prize for whomever wins

Most things at MGM are covered or indoors. Unless it is COLD out, no reason to skip a park due to rain!

When it starts raining, go to the parks anyway! The parks usually clear out when it starts raining. It usually only rains for 20 or 30 minutes or so in Florida so when the rain stops you have basically the whole park to yourself!

Epcots lands are indoors. Go straight to the Ellen's Energy Show this Awesome ride will keep you entertained!! Then next door is Body Wars and Carainum Command[don't miss this preshow!!!] This show will definately raise your spirits. Then by the food counter there is a live show that was a hit!!

By then the rain should have stopped so you can go to the next building and ride Test Track.

We've done the parks in a hurricane! Just once did it get so bad that we had to get out! Frankly, I actually look forward to off days since we always rent a vacation home. Nothing like cooling out on the lanai!

Like most of the previous posters mentioned Rain is good at WDW. Especially the really hard all day variety. A couple years ago I was staying at ASMU and had a 4 day monster park itself right on top of the area. I got smart on the second day I wore my baggy green swimming trunks instead of shorts a cool max gause shirt my poncho and a pair of surf shoes that just happened to be in my truck. It was one of the best days I have ever had at Epcot. Went to get a Coffee at a Kiosk near Germany and the girl working it was using a huge floor style squeegy to try to keep the counter clear. No crowds and only TT was closed.
You just need to prepare a little.
Havent seen this in a while but ladies you might want to by a pair of Mens swim trunks. You cant tell them apart from womens shorts easily they dry really fast and are perfect for the water rides also. During that trip my then current girlfriend and I had to go over to the big discount malls so she could buy several different colors and styles.
Don't let the rain ruin a trip, use it for all it is worth.

Put on a poncho and go to the AK. It was great. The park was empty because of everyone leaving and all of the animals were out. They love the rain.

Rules for rain: wear your flip flops or beachy shoes! :) DBf and I are big on gym shoes/sneakers all the time but last Sept. it rained rained rained! By the end of the week I figured out the trick. If its cold, wear jeans and roll them up to mid-calf, then wear your flip flops for shoes that day. I thought my feet would really hurt but it was comfy. I took my backpack and put ONLY in it: towel from the hotel room, ponchos in ziploc bags, extra tshirt in a bag. When it started raining I rolled up my jeans, out came the ponchos and we were set! Afterwards we toweled off and kept going. No lines anywhere in the MK during the rain.

I recommend avoiding World Showcase during extremely rainy days as nothing is goign on.

If you just want to be dry and avoid parks on wet days, this is going to sound stupid but go to the movies! :) We went to the theater in DTD and saw The Others, were all snuggled up and dry in the comfy seats and practically had the place to ourselves. Then we had lunch and did some shopping.

We did MGM this Jan. in an all day ,hard rain. It was just fine! One extra hit we learned was to wear a baseball style cap under your poncho to direct the rain off your face and head.Worked well. Most everything at MGM was under cover and just like Disney Magic, if stoped raining in time for Fantasmic. Epcot would be good in the rain but Test track does not run in the rain and it is my and DS's favorite ride.

You might want to buy ponchos at the dollar store before you leave and just take them with you even if rain is not in the forecast. If your traveling with a large group or small ones this will help out greatly.
When it begins to rain at WDW and the yellow ponchos come out - everyone looks the same from behind.
