RAINING ALL WEEK?!?!?!?

Wed and Thur will probably be the most overcast days. Not rain all the time but cloudy and rain showers here and there with some heavy downpours

Looks like by the weekend back into the Summer FL pattern. Sunny then strong storms for 2 hours and then back to being sunny

FYI: here is a really good website that I use a lot

Take ponchos and keep track of the weather radar so you can plan which areas you want to be in when/if the rain comes (like plan to be in an area that has a lot of cover, shops, or indoor rides). Florida rain is usually pretty quick (under an hour) and the number of people in the parks tend to drop quite a bit if it last longer than that, so you can often get a lot done (inside) during bad weather.

As long as there is no severe weather within 10-12 miles of WDW, the outdoor rides will usually operate in the rain. We had a couple days a few weeks ago that rained for 3+ hours, so you have to have a good plan if you are going to be in the park. We got stuck at BTMRR for 90 minutes because they stopped the trains from running but it was pouring rain and lightning, so we had no where to go since the rides in Frontierland were shut down and it was a decent walk to get anywhere that was indoors. When the rain finally stopped, we walked towards the castle and it was all but empty and they were about to start Happily Every After fireworks, so we walked right up to the castle when the show started and got a fantastic view with no crowds. Two days later we ended up tromping through another 3 hours of straight rain at AK, but it was just rain so everything kept running...Expedition Everest was interesting to ride in the pouring rain..lol. Here we didn't notice a crowd decrease due to the rain at all because Pandora was newly opened.

We have been to Disney dozens of times (in May/June) and the rain can vary from 10 minute showers to several hour long thunderstorms. It can still be enjoyable if you are prepared for the weather and have a good plan on how to handle it at each park.

Disney in the rain isn't ideal, but the good thing is most parks run at lower capacity and it gives you a break from the intense sun and heat. Hopefully your forecast is just the usual, brief, Florida summer thunderstorms!

We were in a drought and had fires and now we are getting the much needed rain. We will also be getting a bumper crop of mosquitos so be sure to use your repellent!

The week of May 28-June 3, there were several signs telling people to use bug spray, and we even had a letter about the mosquitoes and a can of Deep Woods Off left by mousekeeping on our bathroom counter at the Grand Floridian when we checked in.

You must live in Central Florida, have you compared that website's forecast to what actually happened?

I actually live in Palm Beach, but I study meteorology.

Maybe you can compare and let me know

I have professional websites and tools I use but if I post those on here people would scratch their heads and be like what in the hell LOL

South Florida here. It always rains June - November.

We never know how long it will last or how vicious it will be. Tropical state.

Sounds good, but are previous forecasts appearing on a weather website available after the fact so that they can be compared against the actual recorded weather history for the Central Florida area?

We were just in one of our driest seasons in a long time so yea its finally starting to rain alot. Which we are happy about at least

We were there last year when it rained for many, many hours over many days. These were not the brief passing showers that I had heard so much about for Florida. The first day our Dumbo ride was literally just taking off when it started pouring. Longest ride of my life as I tried to cover DD as she was freaking out. We both got off soaked - except for one dry spot on DD's back where I had covered her. Of course it's one of our most favorite and hilarious memories now. I'll be honest, by the third straight day of rain I was on the verge of a meltdown as I was just over wet ponchos/stroller covers, sloshing through huge puddles, and having rides constantly down. It didn't help that we were at AK where there is little rain cover. But I looked at some of the families who were having complete meltdowns around me and reminded myself that I could still choose to have a great vacation, an adult tantrum is not cute, and a rainy day at Disney is still better than a rainy day at home. Eventually by the 4th day we just recognized it for what it was and had a lovely afternoon and night watching Disney cartoons in our PJs at the resort. Good luck, OP!

We've been to Disney in all kinds of weather: blazing heat, freezing cold, pouring rain and bone dry. My tip is to make the best of it, you're on vacation after all! Who cares if you get a little wet? Prepare as best you can, a waterproof backpack (or put a garbage bag in it to cover it if needed), rain jackets, a few large zip locks to put things you don't want wet like your phone and wallet, and spare socks and you're good...

Rain will thin out the crowds as the less adventurous head out of the parks. Then you can hit up dry attractionis which there are plenty of - Space Mountain, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, the list goes on...

The best website that is free and open to the public is this one:

https://www.wunderground.com/histor...reqdb.zip=32830&reqdb.magic=8&reqdb.wmo=99999

not many available really. Because once the weather happens no one really cares about it anymore. It's the hype leading up to it and then done and you dont hear about it anymore. LOL

Thanks, strangely enough that's the site I've been referring to for years. I like to compare the current year to the prior year's weather.

Now that site says yesterday there was 1" of rain fell in the area. Is that correct from your observations?

Can get a feeling how accurate it is

This is the key. Tropical state. I know for myself I tend to extrapolate the weather from where I am (NJ) but it's a completely different climate. If you're going in the wet and hot season expect to be wet and hot

Sounds right. Heavier rain came in spurts, with sprinkles throughout the day. We had to move undercover at DHS until about 7pm.

The biggest advice as a local I can give is if you don't like rain, don't come in the summer.

I hate rain, so I don't enjoy our summers XD
