We're arriving on Monday. I am not looking forward to a rainy vacation after a very rainy spring at home. Does anybody have tips for covering your DSLR camera?

Can I ask a weird question? Does anyone just use an umbrella instead of a poncho? A poncho doesn't sound too comfortable, especially in the heat, and then there is the issue with your shoes still getting soaked.
We toured the parks in 2013 during Tropical Storm Debbie - 72 hours of straight rain. That was an interesting trip to say the least! During the summer months, you could have brief rain showers to hours-long rain showers. Ironically, the best weather we've encountered in Orlando has been in December (only ironic, I guess, coming from a girl living in New England who expects snow that time of year!). For 2 years straight, we've encountered mid-70's and zero rain during our mid-December trips.
I hope there's good weather this December. I don't mind rain if it's hot/warm, but rainy and chilly? No thanks. I'll deal with it regardless, and still be glad I'm at Disney, but sunny, mild weather would be amazing.Ditto! WE went December 2014 and the weather was flipping amazing! Highs in the 50s/60s, lows in the 40s. Sunny. No rain. We had only ever been to Disney in shorts weather, so wearing long sleeves, pants, and lightweight jackets was awesome. It was also nice not having to shower and change clothes twice a day!

We just returned from our trip 6/7-6/14 and there were days that the rain lingered throughout the day. It was pretty overcast most of the time this past week, but it wasn't pouring rain all the time. There were dry periods, but the rain tended to return and be drizzly alot. It definitely wasn't the usual sunny mornings, afternoon storms, and sunny afterwards. But we did everything we wanted and the upside is that it was cooler and less humid!

Just about to head home. It rained every single day we were at the parks.
Not gentle easy rains, but monsoon rains. Wet shoes are the worst. Everything was soaked. We walked in 3 inches of water because there was nowhere for it to drain to.
So rain is not fun.
My best advice: Bring a GOOD poncho, not those 3 dollar cheapies. I recommend frog toggs or something similar. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. You will get wet at Disney World.
And there is nothing wrong with being bummed about it. You don't always have to look on the bright side.I think December is one of their drier months... we were there a week and only had one day where it was cloudy and drizzling off and on.
Here in FL we are watching a system in the GULF.
Depending how close it gets to FL will determine the rain for next week. As of now it looks like a steady on and off rain is possible for Sunday through Tuesday getting better by Wed
Now if storm goes further West will be less rain.
One thing is certain there will NOT be much sun next week in Disney World. Sorry
Hardly certain. Weather forecasts change constantly.
It looks like the storm in the Gulf might be further away from FL than previous thought. Would mean less rain for Orlando this week.
