I bought length of cruise on the 11-night and it wasn't much more than that for 1 person. And I went every day. Nice to have it to yourself, for sure, but not sure about the value. Also, once cruises are a little more heavily booked, not sure the availability will be there either.

I would say I have looked at other cruises the last week and I have no doubt anyone else would be booking the room normally just only for vaccinated guests. That being said most other lines are testing and requiring vaccination so its a little different.
Once Disney increases capacity I think they will go back to the old system (unless this makes them more money which I doubt).
Idk, I think the cost is well worth it since you get the room to yourself. Am I crazy or did they used to offer the room privately to couples for a similar price?
Not gonna lie, I was super disappointed in her comments about gratuity. “They’re not doing anything for me.” Nope, just sanitizing, cleaning, mopping up, putting out fresh towels, providing fresh ice/lemon water, etc. within 15 minutes. That room was near perfection when she walked in. Damn, I’d say they earned that gratuity and then some!

I am inclined to agree that it is odd to have an added gratuity for something that isn't a "service." I would assume the cleaning/upkeep is built into the (high) price of your reservation?

Idk, I still think they deserve gratuity. You tip your stateroom host or housekeepers in a hotel. Seems like the “behind the scenes” work to sanitize and clean for your own personal experience deserves a gratuity. I guess that’s where I feel it’s different from your “Lots of people are cleaning, mopping, putting out towels, ect around the ship” example. That’s being done for *everyone* on board to enjoy. This service was done just for me.
I do not typically. I put the DND on the door when I arrive and take it off when I leave leaving all towels in one location and all trash/recyclable in the specific location they should be. If I am in a hotel where I am getting daily service or additional things I will tip. Example requesting more soap be brought up.
Except its not just for you its simply the process they follow between appointments. Do you tip the person overlooking the self checkout area at Walmart or Target? They also are cleaning up, pre-opening bags, ect.
I could come up with tons of locations where people are doing an action between guests/clients/customers in various situations.
In the end Disney just needs to pay them more fairly. Additionally I would view this less as gratuity and more as a cleaning fee. Just glad the team in the spa is able to make some money. I do want to add I also liked what I saw about Celebrity as all gratuities are bundled in the pricing itself. That way everyone was taken care of while you could still tip those who really did help you during the time on the ship.
Do we know since it is for your private party, if the age restriction is still 18? It might be worth it if I could bring my 14 and 16 year old daughters with us.
