I vote for eliminate the fee.

I read on previous posts that the RFR had several problems such as no hot water and showers not working. Has this problem been rectified?

Not on the cruises we have been on!!! It's always a problem!

THis is why I'm staying far away from the Spa on my upcoming cruise and saving me some money to spend on drinks instead. Also getting a pedicure and manicure before the cruise. Have never received a good job on the ship and they are expensive compared to the spa I go at home.

I know what you mean about expensive at the Spa - my own massage therapist is $40/hour and boy, does she give my body a workout! Prices are less here in podunk, indiana.

Bring your own drinks on the ship and just add to the basics -

And by the way, you must try rum in the orange-mango soup (it's a chilled soup and with ice, the rum just makes it sooooo goood!)
In fact.....that's a good idea, maybe I can puree some mango, add it to my OJ now and see what kind of a "flu cure" I can come up with!!!!

floridaminnie , I agree , the spa treatments on all cruise ships are very overpriced . Steiner has the contract on all the ships I have been on and the spa staff gets very aggressive trying to sell you the ridiculously overpriced products after a spa treatment . But I still enjoy the Aromaspa/seaweed treatment .

What a great way to ring in the New Year , wish I was there . I will be on the Magic for the Jan. 31 Western Caribbean cruise .

I have written Steiner but received no reply to any of my letters. I think their entire staff needs an attitude adjustment. They are so unDisneylike. I do use their products, yes OVERPRICED, but at least tax free!!

Rae,
I absolutely agree with the attitude. DCL (and WDW for that matter) should hire an exceptional and Disney knowledgable (ok, obsessed) Massage Therapist such as myself. I have 13 years experience, graduated from the top school in the country and when I applied with Steiner they would not consider my resume without a full length photo of myself!

You HAVE to be kidding me. I don't care what you look like when I'm getting a massage as long as you know what you are doing with your hands!

A full size photo? Ohhhh, I understand that....you have to conform to physical standards of beauty before your credentials and ability are counted. You might just not have the right "attitude", dearie.

Sounds like the way of the world - beauty over brains.

Sorry folks, I vote for brains -

I say :

Again , I agree 100% Suzie . In fact the best massage I ever had was on Voyager of the Seas from a Romanian man . He was the only male I have ever seen working for Steiner giving massages .

As for the full length body photo . I don't know why steiner asked for that . From what I have observed , Steiner has spa staff that range from very attractive to just plain homely , some thin , and some quite large . This from a man's perspective .
