I hear these have good food. What are your thoughts? I was thinking of the one in minniealops for moms birthday dinner.

We've eaten at the one in Disney and in Las Vegas. I thought the food was pretty good. I got a salad with chicken and strawberries and other things. I can't remember the name of it but I liked it.

The food is decent, but what we really go there for is the atmosphere.

For dessert, you MUST get a Volcano. I dare ya to!

The food is below average and over priced. The atmosphere is very nice and original.

The food is quite expensive for what you get. It's 'average'...I've never had a GREAT meal there! Yes, atmosphere wise it's a fun place to go, it's more 'environmentally friendly' in food choices, they do have a good dessert volcano, but the food itself- if it were somewhere else, I wouldn't go back because of the high prices...

NOW, if you're planning on being at MOA for your mom's b-day, my husband and I like kokomos. We've had good food there, it's on the spendy side, but it's different and tastes good. I've always been happy with the portion sizes.

ANOTHER good option is the Japaneese steakhouse, just off the interstate a few miles from MOA. We had an OUTSTANDING meal there, and it's a very fun experiance

The food is decent. It isn't the best I've had, but on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say 7.5. :) I've had the chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and cole slaw, and it's pretty tasty. I've had some of their mixed drinks too. They aren't that bad, IMO. Like others have said, if it's not for the food, it's for the awesome atmosphere. Usually about every 15 mins or so (might be more frequent, not sure), thunder rumbles around the whole building, the lights dim, and the animals in the eating area all make noise, as if it's a thunderstorm. There isn't any real rain (thank goodness :lmao:), but kids get a kick out of it.

Yes, the volcano is a MUST! I've had it every time I've gone, and I think it's $12.99, again not sure of the current price, but you get a bunch of scoops of ice cream, surrounded by super warm brownies and hot fudge, with a sparkler (sometimes...other times just a sparkle spout pom pom lol) coming out the top, to make it look like a spewing volcano. Usually, every time someone gets a "volcano", when they bring it out, the servers will scream "VOLCAAAANNNOOOOO!" and make noise until they bring it to you. It really is a lot of fun. Make sure you have a craving for it though, because they give you A LOT. :thumbsup2

I'd say go just to say you've been there. The food is decent enough to make it worth it, and the dessert is just amazing. THAT is worth it for me. :lovestruc

How are they for lactose intolant people with seafood alergies? I know mom REALLY wants to go there but im nervious. I hear they have alot of seafood and cheese dishes

The salads are my favorites too. :thumbsup2 I've never seen one with strawberries at the MOA though.

They have a variety of dishes. While they have seafood, it's not to the expense of other types of food. There are plenty of beef, chicken, and pasta dishes, in addition to the yummy salads.

We go to Rain Forest Cafe just to get Bamba's BBQ Chicken wrap. It is soooo good! It is not super BBQy (don't know how you would spell that!) and oh so yummy.

To me, the food is just average. The last time I ate there the food made me sick, so I haven't been back in a few years.

The atmosphere is great, though!

Out of the three big themed restaurants (Hard Rock, Rainforest, Planet Hollywood) I think Rainforest has the best food. I've been to the one at DTD in both Orlando and Anaheim and had a decent meal at both. The food wasn't great and it was over priced because it is a themed restaurant but I think the atmosphere makes up for it.

I love the rainfoerst cafe in the mall of america!!! I love the food too. My favorite is make yourself soft tacos (I get the chicken) they bring out sizzling hot chicken and tomatoes this been stuff, spicey rice, quacomoly (speeling not right I know), cheese, lettuce, and sour cream. I don't get the onions or the peppers though. The volcano is a must as someone said. There are balloon men that are here from a diff country collecting for charity, they make all kinda of stuff and ya just donate a few dollars. They have been here for a while now, and my son loves to get balloons.

:goodvibes:thumbsup2 Bubba Gumps is good at the Mall of America if you're into seafood, but it too is pricey, a great atmoshpere though!

Love the atmosphere - with that said we wouldn't go there for any other reason. But since we do love that part, our plan in the future is just to get the Nachos and the Volcano. None of us have yet to find an entree we really like. They also seem overpriced.
