We've been to the DTD, AK, and Minneapolis RCs and it's the same at each...... the atmosphere is fun, some dishes are fine, some aren't so good, the portions are large, and it's expensive. They seem to have service setup in what is probably *supposed* to be efficient, but isn't.... It always seems that one person takes your order and another picks it up and brings it to you. Separate jobs may have sounded like a good idea, but the person bringing you food isn't you waiter and doesn't seem to care if it gets to you quickly - and BOY does it cause delays if there's a problem.
True story. I ordered a pasta alfredo without the chicken. When it was brought, my dish had chicken on it. I very politely said that I had ordered it without chicken. (Bear in mind that I tend to be overly forgiving of mistakes like this and don't start out anywhere near upset.....) The food-delivery guy actually sat there and explained to me how it was MY fault for ordering pasta without chicken instead of wording it in the way their cooking staff was used to hearing it!!!!! Seriously. I wasn't sure whether to call a manager or just laugh out loud.

By the time they fixed the problem and brought me my dinner, it had been so long that everyone at my table had finished their entire meal......
If you're flexible and go in without high expectations, it's an experience the kids will probably enjoy. Listen to the recommendations on what to eat and go in expecting for the meal to take a while. And, especially if you think you might ever go to another RFC, join their club - it does pay for itself quickly. (And they will charge you less for the yummy fru-fru drinks if you ask not to get the souvenir glass if you don't mind not having that.)
