Rainforest Cafe - Why do you go?

My vote goes to atmosphere, although I have to say I was pleasantly suprised by the good food. I was even more suprised by the cost of the meal....but hey that's a theme park area for you.

We ate twice at the Downtown Disney location last week ( Christmas week ) The food was super each time. I like the shrimp with crab WOW. Over the last few years we have stopped at the Downtown locaton 6 or so times. We have never waited over 10 min. but we have a small party of 3. I just dont understand the coments about a long wait. I did notice some large groups waiting 6 or 8 people 20 to 30 min.

Stopped at the Disney Downtown location many times over the years. Ate several times just last week ( Christmas week ). We are from South Texas and stop in at each visit to Disney. Love the atmosphere and the food. Shrimp stuffed with crab sooooooo good.

I've been to the AK RFC, but we don't make a habit of going there because we have a local RFC. My kids love RFC, which is why we eat there locally. With the opening of Y&Y (which we want to try on our next trip) and the "new" Tusker House, I don't think we'll be returning to the AK RFC soon.

I've tried RFC a few times-locally and once in DTD years ago. I really dislike the atmosphere-it's just not for me. Too dark and too loud and I have a hard time enjoying the company I'm with when I'm there.

I also terribly dislike the food there. I do admit I'm a picky and health conscious eater. Last time I was there I thought I'd try a salad and was very disappointed.
I think the food is way overpriced for the quality of meal and I'd rather spend that money elsewhere.

I've never been to the DAK one, but have no interest in trying it when we go.

We 100% go for the food. We always go to the DTD location. We always try to make this our 1st night visit, but it always depends on which flight we can get. I absolutly love the Pot Roast... yummm yummmm yummmmm and my DH and I both love the Volcano. I don't care how stuffed we are we always find room in our stomachs for this. We both are so excited for my BIL to get to check this place out. He's a huge BBQ fan and I just know he'll love the food. My DS10 loves the chicken and fries and loves the atmosphere but hates the thunderstorms (he hates them at home too ).

I guess there is a RFC in MA about an hour and a half away but we haven't made it down there, besides there is just something about being in the one in Disney that just can't compare.
