Rainforest Cafe & vouchers

I was wondering if anyone would share more info about their experience at Rainforest Cafe using Connections vouchers. I do My Points (reward program) and usually redeem them for RC gift certificates. But now I'm wondering if the vouchers would be better and if I should use My Points for something else.

Any thoughts? Thanks much!

In August, my DH and I used one Kingdom Lunch Voucher to split a huge meal at the AK Rainforest Cafe. Our waiter was very familiar with the voucher and made suggestions to help us get the most out of it. We had a chicken pita appetizer, lobster and steak surf and turf, and bananas foster for desert. We were stuffed and got about $80 worth of food for the $30.50 voucher.

Because it's always lunch at the AK Rainforest, you can eat there with the voucher in the evening.

We had a similar experience to "dgaston" on 8/8/03. Very generous interpretation of coupons. But here's the funny thing - we never went back, even though we were at the World until 8/26 and had several more coupons to use. The filet was great, the stuffed lobster adequate. Blue crab appetizer was the most flavorful item. The waiter was pretty inattentive. The environment, which is supposed to be entertaining, was mostly noisy on an already-noisy-hard-surface, close-tables environment.

In summary, if you already love RFC, you will be very happy with the coupon usage. If you do not already love RFC, and are used to other coupon-restaurants (like Concourse Steakhouse, Brown Derby), you might notice a shortfall of pixie dust and quality.

We realized a very good savings at RFC and I did the same thing you mentioned doing at RFC with mypoints as well. Because the vouchers are such a good deal there I never used the RFC certificate from mypoints and then just before it expired I ended up leting the kids use the certificate for souvineers at the RFC gift shop. I won't make that mistake again--I really wasted the points for junk we really didn't need! Save up your points for a better deal!JMHO
