Rainforest Cafe Reservations

I have a question about reservations at the AK Rainforest Cafe. How far in advance can you make them, and do you make them by calling WDW-DINE??

They take reservations up to six months in advance and you call them directly at 407-827-8500.

Disney dining will make the reservations for AK Rainforest Cafe 180 days in advance.

Yes, this is true. Disney will make the ADR for you at AK Rainforest Cafe, but NOT the one in DTD. I checked on this just two days ago. I guess the one in DTD is not owned by Disney, but the one in AK is. I still haven't called to make mine yet cause I can 't decide if I want to go the one in AK or the one in DTD. Any thoughts??? I think we will just go for lunch cause I don't want to spend a lot of money OOP on meals since we already purchased the ddp. I'd be happy just going in and ordering a drink and appetizer at lunch time. That way the kids can still get the whole experience and I don't have to spend a fortune.

We have eaten at both. Honestly, to our family, they were the same. We really like both of them and plan to continue visiting both of them.
I have read several DISers' posts that say the AK location is better.
I am not sure why, however.
The only reason we are going to the AK location this year instead of the DTD location this year is because we chose to do House of Blues in DTD instead. We are doing the Rainforest Cafe for lunch on our AK park day.

I think we will just go for lunch cause I don't want to spend a lot of money OOP on meals since we already purchased the ddp. I'd be happy just going in and ordering a drink and appetizer at lunch time. That way the kids can still get the whole experience and I don't have to spend a fortune.

We were on a tight budget the last trip and CM had a good suggestion when we booked ADR at RFC. She suggested the latest lunch seating possible. I think it was around 4:30. We ate a late breakfast that day and then RFC was a late lunch/early dinner and still was on the lunch menu. Much cheaper than dinner would have been only two hours later.
