can you make PS's thru disney dining for the rainforest cafe in downtown disney? or is that a separate restaurant you have to call directly?

Disney Dining only takes reservations for th Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. For the RC at Downtown Disney you can call them directly at 407-827-8500. They take reservation up to 24 hours in advance.(for same day reservations they will only accept them until 4pm and then they are at a walk in only)

We have eaten at Rainforest many times and never had an issue. It is loud int the resturant and they once had a fire in the kitchen which delayed my food for awhile, but we love RC, provided we have a reservation (as the wait time is always so long without one). To each their own...

I saw the bad dining experience thread....personally, Im not a fan of the place

but we are meeting some friends from orlando that night for dinner (that arent disney vacationing) and they want to take their kids there so I will humor them. I just want to see them....I can get by the food

The service is always incredibly bad. The food is marginal at best. But, every year we still go there at least once. It's become part of the ritual.

Every restaraunt will have people who dont' like it or have a bad experience! The Rainforest Cafe is our FAV!! and we will eat there atleast 3-4 times in 10 days.

We walked right in when we went. I found it really dark though. Almost needed a flashlight, or for them to keep the "lightning" on so i could eat my food.

We only use ours at Disney (1-2 times a year) and it has more than paid for itself.

You can buy these AT the Rainforest Cafe when you go. In fact, someone on this board said they showed up at RC and the line was VERY long and they were told they had a long wait, so they went in the gift shop and bought one of these cards and went back to the check in desk and asked how long and they were given a new (MUCH shorter) time and were seated very quickly.

we ate at the rainforest cafe in dtd for the first time last year and loved it.I had one of the best salads i ever had i'm pretty sure it was a cobb salad and it was huge. we had a very nice waiter who was very efficient. my children especially the youngest loved all the animals. yes it is loud but that is what makes it unique.i made a ps a few months before i went for around 12 or so but we got there early and were hungry, i asked if we could be seated earlier and they sat us right away, this was last july. it wasn't crowded at first but got packed quickly. we are going back to disney in june and will definately eat there again.

We loved Rainforest Cafe. We had a 15 minute wait time, so we walked through "The Art of Disney". We were seated promptly at the 15 minute mark we were quoted. Our service was great and the food was wonderful (the shrimp en brochette was fabulous!!!). Everyone has bad experiences at any restaurant. Think about it, if you go to your favorite restaurant often enough, sooner or later even they will have a bad night.

So funny reading these posts. My 3 year old son loves animals so we have gone to RFC here in New Jersey a few times. I always groan through it. I just don't like the menu that much and dread going back. What you will do for your kids...

but I just talked our friends into O'Hanas instead....I feel better now

we ate at both last trip and liked O'hanas about 100 times better

and its still fun for the kids
