If you have eaten here, please give me your thoughts.

all opinions welcome:goodvibes

this will be two adults no kids, but we had not tried this place yet.

DTD seems to be more crowded than the AK location, but we have had consistently better service at DTD.

It is a theme restaurant, but they have a very good selection of food to choose from.

Note:
If there is a long wait, keep your eye open for seats at the bar. There is no wait for them, it is first come first served. We have slipped into the bar area before when the wait was up to 2 hours, and have found seats within a few minutes. With 2 adults, it may get you away from the main dining area (and the kids).
Enjoy the bar stools....

To be honest, this was the WORST meal of our entire visit. I try to keep a very open mind about what to expect when I am 'theme park dining,' and do not judge it as harshly as if I were at home going to a restaurant. This experience was just poor all the way around.

I suppose we were spoiled by the Disney cast members, so that tarnished our opinion as well. We were seated right by a big gorilla, which was great for the children, but that was about the only great thing of the night. Our server took forever to get to us and when he did, was less than engaging. Our food was mediocre at best and when we got our food, our waiter was not to be found until it was time to deliver the bill.

If it had just been the poor service, I would give it another try, but the food was just not worth the price we paid. We even had a better experience at Tony's than this, if that helps gauge it.

We always eat at RFC every trip, sometimes at Downtown Disney and sometimes at AK. To me they're pretty much the exact same, except AK feels a little bit bigger to me. That said, I love the atmosphere and food!

Rainforest Cafe was the worst meal of our last trip. We ate at the Animal Kingdom location. The food was mediocre, and the service was lousy. Our waitress kept insisting that we purchase the ~$5 light-up glasses for our shakes. I'm try to keep an open mind about restaurants, especially when we are dining in a theme park, but since this was not a Disney-owned restaurant, I was not impressed at all. :sad2:

Everytime my family and I are at WDW we always eat at this location and it has always been a very good experience.

I found the food to be very good. Portions are pretty big, and the thunderstorms are pretty cool!

It's not worth the time spent sitting there waiting for your food. Not worth the astronomical prices. It's nice to look at with the kids, but it gets annoying after about 5 minutes. It's way too loud and the food is not worth wasting you money or Disney dining points.

We go every trip and love it! We love the atmosphere and the food is pretty good! They are very big portions! We have been to both but prefer the one in DTD

We have eaten at the DTD Rainforest Cafe several times and have never had a bad meal there or bad service. We always call and make reservations with them directly and have never had any issues with waiting at all. :thumbsup2

I thought both RFC at WDW were terrible. Bad service, bad food, long waits, etc. The one at DTD at DL was not much better.

Volcano dessert is great. would feed 4 adults easily. one very good way to avoid the long wait and cut the price a little is the safari club. last time at DTD there was a two hour wait, used our card had a seat in 15 minutes. 10% discount on all food and merchandise. get it through rainforest web site

I have to say, we went to the RFC in DTD last trip we made and since we had kids, we loved it. That being said though, I don't think if it was just my DH and I that we'd go back. Food is only soso and it's very very noisy. If it were me, I'd head over to Wolfgang Puck Express. Now THAT was an incredible lunch!!:worship: I am hoping to get to go back there for lunch when we head back in Dec.
