Do you need a park pass to get in? - You do not, it is just outside of the gates for AK, so you don't actually need to enter the park to dine there.

How long does it take to get the AK from the AKL via Disney transportation? - Generally not more than half an hour.

How much tax is on food/service/merchandise in Orlando/WDW? - 6.5% for all of Disney except for All Stars and ASM. All Stars and ASM are 7.5%

The bus ride from AKL to AK is only about 5 minutes, it is really close. Time just depends on how long you wait for a bus at AKL to take you to AK. So you could get there in 10 minutes but if you have to wait ages for a bus it could take you 30mins.

As said before you don't need a pass to get in there, from the bus stop you head towards the entrance of the park and the entrance to Rainforest Cafe is to the left (if you are facing the entrance of the park).

Well I'll be.... all this time I never knew the tax on food was higher at the All Stars. So I am sure this is also true for the tax on the rooms and gift store to, huh?
