Rainforest Cafe AK ADR

Greetings everyone! Newbie here. I was wondering if it is possible to make ADR at the Rainforest Cafe in AK and also if it is possible to order a birthday cake at this Restaurant.
We will be visiting WDW Dec. 27-Dec31 for the first time and my GF 16 year old will be celebrating her birthday on the 30th and has chosen to celebrate it here.
Hopefully someone can fill me in as I have 1 week left before I have to make ADR.

I had called and asked Disney Dining when I made our other Priority Seating arrangements. They told me that I had to call the resturant itself to make a reservation. The number was (407)938-9100. They can tell you about the cake. We brought one in the park with us from our hotel and had no problem at all.

Funny - this is my first post. We have ADRs for mine and my DD (15) b-day for Dinner at AK Rainforest Cafe. We are going during free dining - they are not on the dining plan. As for dessert - we are going just for the Volcano - if you have never been to a Rainforest Cafe before - the Volcano is a giant structure of Brownies, ice cream, choc sauce and sparklers and they will announce birthdays. We have several here in Texas and this is our B-day tradition. The Volcano is enough for several people. I am going to do the birthday cake thing too - but at a park restaurant. I made my ADRs through the Disney Dining Reservations - for after the park closes, because RC stays open later.

Actually I think that I had to call the restaurant directly because we had a party of 10 and Disney Dining couldn't reserve that many seats for us. So, if you have a smaller party, you can probably make the reservations through Disney. But you have the direct number, if you want to ask the restaurant about the cake.

We just tried making ADR's for AK RFC but it has to be exactly 180 days not the 180 +10 like some of the other disney resturants.
We plan on calling back in a couple of days, I heard it is fun there and the kids sure will love having a volcano.yummy

Actually there are two different RC in Disney World...The one at DTD requires you to call directly...But you can make ADR through Disney for the one at AK..Both do not accept the dining plan.

You booked at the one at the AK, correct? DTD is the only one that requires the direct call

I was told by Disney dining that I had to call the AK Rainforest Cafe directly because I was making reservations for a party of 10. I wanted us all sitting together and she told me that they could only insure that a party of 8 could be together at this restaurant. But if I called directly I would have a better chance of eating together. Many locals dine at both RF locations and they don't make their reservations through Disney. Many are also part of the RF club which gives them priority seating. And there aren't alot of tables at the restaurnat that can accommodate a party of 10, so I had to call directly to make sure. Sorry for the confusion.
