Will be tent camping May 21 - 31 next year. We have secured two campsites, with plans of having two tents on each, for a total of 20 people. Several of our female guests are not liking the idea of tent camping, especially if it is rainy. Do any of you experienced campers have knowledge of rainfall amounts that time of year, or ways to stay dry if it is rainy?

Thanks! ::MinnieMo

Well, haven't camped in FW in May, but have been to Disney our last two trips in late May. We have found the weather delightful. Warm but not so humid as our previous trips in August. Now tent camping in August, I imagine would be a concern as there are daily late day thunderstorms, we actually looked forward to them..as it cooled things down some. However in May I think we had an occasional day that it may have rained ..but no flooding involved...which I believe would be a concern in the later summer months.

Personally, I am not real concerned about camping in the rain, as long as there is no flooding. But, my D-I-L, and S-I-L's parents are not real thrilled. I think they are mainly concerned about possible tent leaking and the kids getting soaked and making a mess. I'm glad to hear that May is not overly rainy weather.
