I am arriving tomorrow, 2/27 stay through 3/3. Going to baseball games 3/1 & 3/2. Weather.com is showing showers and thunderstorms just about daily through the period. Is this like the typical August stuff (20 minute downpours)? Or should I plan on getting rained on most of the time I am there? Can anyone give me an idea? Thanks.

In early December it rained a lot. Usually lasting more than 20 minutes. 2 days it rained (downpour) all evening. Other days it sprinkled - sometimes just cloudy. A sunny day here and there. Florida weather is very unpredictable. We still had a great time though. :D

Orlando in the last few days has been experiencing thunderstorms in the evening and late afternoon. They have not been sprinkles but usually last about and hour. So bring the ponchos and some old sneakers and unless it is lightening dont let it stop you.

You know, I posted a thread about this before our trip earlier this month, because I was worried since the 10-day forecast showed rain for several days, too. I will say that my worst fears did not come true. We did not have constant downpours every day--in fact, it only rained one day out of nine. Be prepared, though. It does get chilly this time of year when the rain begins to fall.
On a side note, I will admit that some of the best times we've had at WDW over the past three or four trips have been during the rain. I'm sure many people here can also say the same.
We've put on the ponchos and old sneakers and headed out into the parks to have a great time. It's typically not too crowded during these times and it can be a lot of fun.
We were even picked to be Grand Marshalls for the Share a Dream Come True parade one morning at the MK when it was raining and a CM saw my wife and I dancing up main street through the puddles. That was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
So just go and have fun! But don't forget the ponchos. :D

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I will hope for the best. And if it does rain, oh well. We'll break out the ponchos. Besides, it is going to snow here tomorrow night. So, everything is relative.

Keep in mind that these can also be very isolated storms. I am not sure where in Orlando area Grumpy is, but I am in Kissimmee, and we haven't had any storms since last Saturday when the cold front went through...and even then, we seemed to get a lot less than some other areas.

This morning the weather had that we are getting another cold front coming through and tomorrow and Friday there will be a 50% of rain and possible thunderstorms...then on Saturday and early Sunday more isolated showers (40% and 20%).

During a downpour is one of the best times to make a run for the e-ticket rides! One time recently I ran through the rain to get to the Space Mountain entrance- walked right on. By the time i got out of there, I looked back and saw the wait time was already 30 minutes and climbing, with lots of people going in as the rain let up. So dash for it!

Check accuweather.com, they give much more optimistic forcasts. They don't have all of the sponsors to answer to like weather.com.

A wet day in Disney is better by far than a dry day at home any day!!!
