Rain Ponchos - Bring or buy?

I'd buy them at WDW. We've tried bringing the dollar thin ones, and we have also brought the Target ones that are about $5 or $6. Both times we trashed the ones we brought after wearing them a few minutes and bought the WDW ones. The WDW ones just seem to work much better. The dollar store ones were too thin and ripped after a few minutes of wear. The Target ones, water was running through the hood and down the neck on mine, and DD's hood had 2 positions: 1. over her eyes or 2. so far back her whole head was wet. The WDW ones seem to really be designed to keep your head and the top part of you dry. (If it is pouring, your feet and lower legs are still going to get wet no matter what you do.) We keep the WDW ones and use them at home for sporting events etc. We wear them for years. We have several because we never pack them up and take them back to WDW on later trips, so we just buy new ones each time if we need them.

Just curious, what color are the ponchos they're currently selling at WDW? We've seen yellow ones in the past, but last time we went they were clear.

Thanks!

Seriously? ROLFL. Entitled much? Buy a new one, this is not a lifetime purchase.

Seriously? They replace ripped ponchos and I seriously doubt they're going to know or care how long ago it was purchased.

Are the Disney ponchos available for purchase in many places within the parks? Is it a safe bet to wait until we really need them to buy them or will we get soaked running around trying to find a place to purchase them?

They're available everywhere.

I stocked up on $0.88 ponchos from Wal-Mart too for our 2007 honeymoon (probably bought a total of 12-14) and we are still working on using them all up five trips later! We were at WDW for nine nights in early September. There was only one period of extended rain while we were at the parks when we needed to get from one side of the park to the other for an ADR, so we busted out the ponchos and then threw them away when we got to the restaurant. Other than that, Florida rain often (certainly not always)passes rather quickly so we tend to wait it out somewhere dry or make a dash for it to another spot in the park and just accept that we'll get a little wet.

Current Disney ponchos are white. You can see through them but they are not clear transparent. They are sold everywhere in the park.

We were there last week. brought our own dollar store ponchos but the Disney ones are so much better looking and more durable. We are just too cheap to buy those. :)

We bring our own $.88 from walmart as well and that way you don't have to keep them and ball them up after it rains, you can throw away and get a fresh one if it starts up again.

We have done both. When we were on our honeymoon last August, my dh and I purchased the ponchos from the park during a storm. Then my mom and daughter got one this past trip. We like them a lot better than the dollar store ones just because they don't stick to you like cling wrap.

My recommendation is to BRING.

I always bring these to theme park and to the national parks for hiking. I use them for water rides (Splash Mountain MK and Journey to Atlantis SW) and when I sit in the splash zone at the shows at SeaWorld. Sometimes too if it's a really rainy day with a huge downpour and you wait till then to buy them, they are all sold out. I had extras that I gave to strangers who were in that boat on one of our trips. I have some cheap pretty durable ones from Menards.
