Hi,

I am weighing up buying the length of stay pass versus several day passes. We have a couple of days out that may mean we would not get the full benefit of the length of stay? Does anyone know if we buy say 10 passes between 2 of us but only use 8 if we could use them on a later cruise?

Many thanks for any info

thanks and regards

Day passes seem the plan you will not be there all the time IMHO.

We bought a day pass for each sea day we had on the Fantasy (3 days). It was hard for us to even use them. We did end up making time to spend 1 hour each of those days in Senses but almost didn't use but 2 of them. One lady in there ask us if we bought full length passes (this was the last sea day) and we told her no, only enough for each sea day. She said she wishes she would have done that because she had only been 1 time and the cruise was almost over. Now in saying all of that it depends on if you have kids or what you like to do. If we didn't have our son with us we probably could have made time to go 4 or 5 of the days. But we are glad we only bought 3 passes each for me and my dh. It ended up being about 1/2 the cost of the couples length of cruise pass.

Also to my knowledge you can not use them on a later cruise.

Agree with DF (again). Keep in mind when looking at the day pass that on port days you may well be out doing things instead of going to the rainforest room.

Lorraine, I think it depends on how much you think you would use the services. I adore buying (and using them) for my sea days, however, on my Med trips, find that they are crucial to a successful day in port the next day. I know for Rome on year, I was absolutely toast when I got back to the room, and the day after, I was fairly tuckered out. Someone on my Fantasy cruise suggested that I use the Rainforest at the end of a walking intensive itinerary to 'sweat it out' and rehydrate, and I tried it on my Greek isle cruise this past summer, either before or after dinner. It helped me to run around a very busy itinerary. I loved it. I prefer to buy day passes, since I don't care to go every day, and find it more economical in the long run.

I've also traveled with friends who prefer to use the Rainforest pass as a bit of downtime and great shower before heading off to dinner. We all have teens, so it's nice getting a bit of space and solitude to get ready. LOL

When you buy passes in advance for your stateroom are they linked to a person or the stateroom itself?

We bought 6 day passes in April and we had a card indicating that in our room. My wife was sharing them with a friend in another room on another reservation. They simply went to the spa and told them they wanted 3 days each and they marked their room keys with the info in marker. Pretty low tech but effective and they never had a problem.

thanks for the responses - I was wondering if we didn't use all the passes we could take them back on a later cruise?

anyone any experience with this?

Many thanks

Lorraine

You may not; they are tied to a particular cruise. I wish it were otherwise.

Maybe if we all ask Disney, they will change the policy! :D

i can answer the b2b. i had purchased tow many for my first fantasy sailing so i asked at the spa if i could hold one over till the next week. the cm said that was no problem and allowed me to do that.

the passes them selves are actually just a printed card in your cabin stating that you have x number of rain forest passes. you just show up at the spa and its on file there. there is really nothing you could hold over to show on your next cruise.

I am going to have the day to day passes next time incase we are too busy to go as much as I want to.

We get the length of cruise passes. We use the gym every day, and it's great after a good workout--especially Siberian Night!

How much is the 7 night pass on the Fantasy without the scrubs?

I don't recall the price; I want to say somewhere in the $100 range, and the scrubs were included. You can come and go as often as you like. For us, it is totally worth it.

Silly question - apologises but I was on The Fantasy last year and I didn't hear about the Rainforest Room - can someone please explain as we are organizing our second cruise with DCL. DH and I did do a couples massage when we were on board but not sure what the Rainforest pass entitles you to etc. TY in advance.

The Rainforest Room is an area with a sauna (on the Fantasy it has a floor to ceiling glass window overlooking the sea), a steam room, a tepiderium (I think - definitely one on the Magic), 2 small hot tubs on a verandah overlooking the see and 10 heated tile loungers plus several showers that do different things! We usually buy the length of stay passes - we usually do the longer cruises such as the Transatlantic with lots of lovely sea days so the Rainforest room is perfect to chill in - we have seen the shows so we tend to go before dinner when it is quite. If you buy two length of stay - and you don't have to be in the same room to do this there is a slightly reduced rate than buying two single length of stay passes - i did find the prices but forget what they are now! This cruise i am travelling with my sister and her family. She has a young daughter so i know we will all go to the shows together and hang out together so there will be limited time for the rainforest, plus we are doing a full day trip in Mexico so it seems buying us 4 tickets each for my husband will probably suffice and be a little bit cheaper than the length of stay. I know my sister will like to come at least once, but not sure if it is really her husbands thing, so if i brought them 4 tickets between them but they only used 2 it would leave 2 over. Then again they are only $16 each (plus tax) so not really the end of the world if they don't get used and then i can't use them again - i think i have just talked myself into buying them!!!

thanks everyone

Lorraine
