Rain Forest Cafe

Does anyone know hat items have a surcharge on them if you are using the Dining Plan?
As the other posters stated, RFC does not participate in the Dining Plan. As far as I know, the only restaurants (in the dining plan) that have a surcharge for certain entrees is Planet Hollywood and Wolfgang Puck Cafe (not Wolfgang Puck Express though.)

We've done RFK a couple times with a voucher and meal was awesome. I've gotten surf & turf (most expensive thing to get with voucher!) and really enjoyed. It may have helped that after voucher and coupons, the four of us ate a gourmet meal for $.89!!

Oh yeah, the Volcano is a must do... :jumping1:

We have been to the RFC at AK twice and we like it pretty well. We did a breakfast on our first visit and dinner for the second. The food was tasty but nothing spectacular. We enjoy the atmosphere. It is a little loud but that is part of the "show". :)

We've tried both the AK and DTD locations twice each, and all four times we waited an hour or more for our preferred seating and I am yet to have my food served to me while it was still hot. Same experience at Chefs de France. I don't like to pay for cold food.

I hope your experience is good. Sounds like many people have good memories of this restaurant, just not me or my family.

I've had two of the most disgusting meals in my life at RFC - one at DTD and one at AK. The one at AK was in June and I was determined to give it a try because everyone said it was good. IT WAS HORRID!!!!!!!

I chose the pot roast and it was nothing but gristle. I couldn't find any edible meat on the plate. Totally disgusting. I told the server that it was so bad (I got my plate later than my husband and son as well). So they were done eating and I ate nothing.

At the DTD RFC, my husband was served a smoothie with large chunks of plastic in it. The kids all fell asleep before we got the food. This place has to be the slowest dining facility in the world. I swear once they called our name, it took us three stops and at least 15 minutes to be seated. The server was an idiot. We didn't get out of there for 1.5 hours after we got seated.

I have promised my husband that I will never, never, never, never suggest that we eat at RFC again.

Personally, I love Rainforest Cafe. This June, we had to wait 2 & a 1/2 hours though for a table. :scared1: Although, it wasn't too terrible in the end because we were expecting at least an hour and a half wait and had planned to go in all the shops during that time. If you're planning on shopping at DTD, that'd be the time to do it. Pick a day when you want to eat at RC (if you don't want to eat at the one in AK) and get put on the list for a table, and then go shopping. Don't show up hungry is the lesson, I suppose.

As for food, I get the same thing everytime. The Passport to Paradise pizza. Yum, yum, yum. Wish there was a RC somewhere remotely near me, because it's delicious. It's a four cheese pizza on thin crust with chunky marinara sauce. Tastes 1000x better than I could possible describe it.

The Gorillas in the Mist banana cheesecake is yummy too. Although it doesn't mix so well with pizza, LOL. :crazy2:
