We're thinking about eating at the Rainforest Cafe for dinner after we tour the Animal Kingdom. Have any of you eaten there? Would you recommend it? We have 3 children aged 10, 9 and 3. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

We just returned from our trip to WDW. We LOVE the Rainforest Cafe. They atmosphere is excellent. We have a 3 year old and she was a little scared at times. The dining area is designed to look like the rainforest with elephants, gorilla's, etc. They have thunderstorms come through every so often. Lights flicker. Sounds of thunder. Just prepare your children. Food is ok. Burgers are big. You can check out the menu at rainforestcafe.com. I would recommend it as a must!!

Flip side of the coin here. I hate Rainforest Cafe with it's poor quality food and lousy service. I particularly dislike the AK RFC. The only reason I will step foot in one of those places is if I have company who insist on going there. I don't eat there any more. Gave up on getting anything edible.

What ever you do don't go to AK RFC for breakfast. I had the worst breakfast of my life there. One of the rare times I sent anything back. I waited forever, of course, and the second try was worst than the first.

Nope. Not giving my money to that place again.

I LOVE the RFC! I have a 17 month old and he was enthralled! When we went (for the past 6 years) the food was great.:wave2:
Oh, by the way, the DS 10 yrs. loved it also, he said it was his favorite restaurant!

I highly recommend RFC. Not only does it have a wonderful and fun atmosphere, but the menu is very big. It has everything from pasta, pizza, and burgers to seafood and steaks.

The food was ok the time I went. The atmosphere is awsome...I love the different areas especially the monkey area and when it "rains" in the place. Have the bananas forster!!! That is soooo good.

The first time we went, I liked it ok. The food was mediocre, but the atmosphere was incredible. But this last time, it was terrible. I decided to go back because I thought it would be a fun place to go on our first night. Well, the food was horrible. I ordered a chicken dish that tasted like something from the frozen foods section at the grocery store. My sister had pizza that she said was barely edible. I forgot what DH had, but whatever it was, he didn't like it. Never again....there are too many other options.

Love the rainforest Cafe! Get the VOLCANOOOOO! It is great-share it with someone though-maybe the whole family!!

We always go to the Rainforest at Animal Kingdom. Never had bad food. I think like all places you will always hear about someone who didn't like there meal. The place is really cool, but I have noticed alot of younger children crying since it can be very loud. If your 3 year old is a little shy or very quiet, they might not like it.

We ate at the Rainforest Cafe on our vacation and our 4 yr old loved it. He ordered the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and thought they were great. (He thinks any chicken nuggets are great, though.) The food isn't fabulous, but it's good enough. The atmosphere is fun. We loved the desserts! One tip - the air conditioning was on full blast and it was freezing in there! If that bothers you, take something warm to put on.

We enjoyed the AK Rainforest Cafe. We were in the monkey section. I had the ribs and really enjoyed them. Can't remeber what everyone else had, but we all went home full and didn't complain about anything. Daughter was 5 and she loved it.

My family really enjoyed RFC at DTD when we went there last June. The drinks were VERY good (adults only). Just be sure to steer the kids clear of the shopping area...almost spent a fortune in there!

We love RFC and go fairly often here in Chicago, too. Your 3 year old will especially love it there. When our DS was 3, it was his favorite place to eat in WDW.

Haven't tried the AK one, but we LOVE the DTD Rainforest Cafe! It's where we eat upon arrival our first night -- really gets us in the Disney spirit! I've eaten several times at a couple of RFC's outside of Disney as well (in South Florida), and we've never had a bad meal at any of them!

RFC has been a must do for my DD (16) for the last 4 years. We usually do it at AK for lunch as we find it provides us with a nice, much-needed mid-day break from the park (we usually go to WDW in the summer). The food is nothing spectacular but we've always been satisfied and have always enjoyed it. The portions are quite large so we sometimes share an entree. We had the Volcano in October & it was yummy. The atmosphere is great and I think it's wonderful to experience it at least once. I think your children will enjoy it. Have a great trip. :)

We ate at the one at DTD last year and had the same experience that we've had at the one in Houston - food was mediocre (at best) but atmosphere was fun. All in all, we decided it wasn't worth the time - just too many other options at WDW to enjoy.

Ate lunch at RC at AK this past Thursday. My girls (13 and 10) liked the food (pizza and chicken nuggets). My wife and I also were pleased (she got a wrap and I had a burger). Both good. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered a Corona and I got a bomber (24 ounces). Thank you very much!

We love RFC. One of my three boys favorite places to eat at Disney. We've always really enjoyed our meals there and the atmosphere is so cool. My now 5 yo has never been scared, he loves the gorillas.:D

Question: Can you make a PS at the RFC in DTD? Last trip we ate at the RFC in AK and we had a PS but this time we're skipping AK so want to try the DTD location as we'll be at DisneyQuest already. If it makes a difference, I'm talking about Christmas day, lol. Also, we charged the AK meal on our room key, is that possible at DTD restaurants?

Ate there Feb. 2 of this year for lunch (10 of us). We were seated promptly at our reservation time and it was downhill from there. Service was terrible; took us two hours after we were seated to leave. Food was spotty. Some of it was good (crab cakes), but most was below average, and the prices were excessive for what we got even by Disney standards. The only redeeming quality was the atmosphere.

We had been there four years ago for lunch and had no complaints, but after our Feb. 2 experience we will not go back. There are plenty of better places to eat at Disney.
