We are going 6/12 - 6/17. Should I get a rain cover for our stroller?

If yes, would an adult sized ponch work just as well? We have a Silver Cross umbrella stroller.

Thanks guys!!

I always bring stroller covers. Nothing worse than having a soaking wet stroller and kid for the rest of the day. They don't take up much room and are fairly inexpensive.

I have seen people using adult ponchos on their strollers although I've never tried it. I guess as long as you are careful about where the neck holes and arm holes are placed, it could work. You might want to do a trial run in the rain with a poncho on your stroller to see if it works. You don't want it dragging on or getting caught in the wheels and you don't want it to collect water and then come pouring in through one of the holes.

Go for the stroller cover. We tried the poncho, it slipped off, it has no holes for "breathing" We bought on at Walmart and it has some net panels for "breathing" it stayed in place as it fitted for the stroller. I would definitly go with the cover. Plus depending on how old your child is it nice that it is clear so they cand see.....hmmm, I guess you could get a clear poncho....we had red ones. :guilty: DD was angey she coul dnt see. Wow, never even thought of clear...how dumb are we!!!

I would try to get the Silver Cross rain cover. The generics never seem to work as well as the manufacturer's models, and we've had lots of trial runs with different makes and models. It may cost more than the generic, but it will most likely work way better. The last thing you want to do is struggle to get a proper fit on the buggy in a downpour.

:figment:

Bring the cover. Keep it on the stroller and cover it when you leave it alone. Theres nothing like comming off a ride to a soaking stroller because of sudden summer rain.

However, if the worst should happen, disposable diapers are great for soaking up most of the rain.

Thanks guys!! I will look into getting a stroller cover just to be on the safe side!

did a "Buy It Now" there for about $8 including shipping -- BabiesRUs website had it for $12.95

It's brand new, still in original packaging.

Possibly could get for less $$ if you go thru the bidding process.
