Raglan Road- Menu Prices and Some Pics

Wow. Or more!!
We have an fine Irish Pub in the Baltimore/Timonium area. Very '"Raglan-Road-ish". Mostly "Pub-Grub"-- sausages, potatoe soup, soda bread, Shepherds Pie, corned beef, etc.
They have a Black Angus burger at $7.95. The "Big Stil" burger (3/4 of a pound ) for $8.95. Cheese (4 kinds) and bacon extra, at .50 each--so either $8.95 or $9.95 total.
But we ARE talking WDW here, so maybe $12.00 isn't too far out of line. The burgers at Planet Hollywood come in at $10.95, and the "Puck Burger" at Wolfgang's is $11.95.

Honestly, these prices don't seem too out of line compared to the other WDW TS restaurants. Just my opinion.

ITA ::yes::

I only see 2 entrees that are over $20. Doesn't look bad to me at all.

This is why the prices seem so high to me, even though we eat so often at Disney, the Irish restaurant we visit is much cheaper.

The beer selection at Raglan Road is just sad compared to the place we usually go to :(

We'll end up using our certificates from Clear Channel and that's probably it.

The prices seem pretty good to me (for Disney). I'm bummed that they don't take DDE though. I switched our Raglan Road ADR to Wolfgang Puck (they take DDE). I really want to get use out of our DDE card this trip. Plus, DH has wanted to go to Wolgang Puck for a while now and we just always seem to go someplace else. :)

Where is this pub in Baltimore? I'd like to give it a try. We live 15 minutes from Baltimore. Have you tried Ruth's Cris Steakhouse? It's pretty good and the burgers are quite tasty. I guess I just don't see how $13 for a burger is pricey anywhere but especially at WDW. :confused3

I also think the prices are perfectly acceptable for WDW restaurants. I see several choices in the ~$15 neighborhood. Chefs de France, for example, doesn't have anything but vegetarian entrees for less than @20. Alfredo's, nothing but pasta less than $20, and most of that is around $18. Marakkesh, nothing but vegetable couscous under $20. I could go on, but the only restaurant I found doing a very quick and unscientific look around allears that was consistently cheaper than RR was the Prime Time (which I've always thought was an outstanding value, WDW-wise).

So, I'll go so far as to say that the entrees at RR look reasonable to me, although I will admit the appetizers are expensive.

Hubby and I ate there the other night and we loved it.

Hubby had the "Crab me Silly and the "Celtic Chicken" and I had the "Colpuccino" soup and the "Shepperd's Pie", we then shared the "Chocolate Jaffe Fondant". We are soda drinkers so no alcohol.

We LOVED the restuarant, the atmosphere was very nice and we felt that the prices weren't bad at all. Given that Hubby and I can spend the same amount at places like OutbackSteak House or the Olive Garden, it is nice to have something different to choose from, not just the same old chain restuarants. The kitchen was kind of slow when we were there, but our server was very good. We are excited to go back and try different things...

The reason why I thought the food was overpriced because the portions are small. Just wait until you order - you'll see what I mean. At other WDW restaurants, the portions are usually HUGE and that was not the case here. That's why I was disappointed to fork over so much $$ and still be hungry in a few hours.

BUt don't get me wrong - the beer was outstanding, service great, and atmosphere is awesome! We will be back, but not for a meal.

Silly me - wrapped up in the birth of my DS 8 months ago I have been spending most of my time on the Disney for Families board...where is Raglan Road? Is this the new sit-down restaurant they are supposed to open at SSR? Sorry - stupid question - I feel out of the loop on restaurant stuff!

It's the new Irish Pub/Restaurant at Pleasure Island (took over the spot previously occupied by the Jazz Club).

I was wondering if this is a place you can take kids. I read in someones post that it was all adults. What do you all think? My DH really wants to go to this place in April.

If so do they have a kids menu somewhere? Thanks

I am taking my niece and nephew here in December, so I hope it is for families! Otherwise I have to find a different adr.

To the OP, how was the Pie in the Sky? It sounds tasty.

That was probably me - we went for dinner around 10pm after Wishes at MK. There was not a child in sight, which was nice for a change for us. The music was LOUD and incredible, Irish dancers on the bar in the middle of the room, mostly just drinking and hanging out going on with guests. I'm sure that earlier in the night there were more families in a much tamer atmosphere.

But for adults wanting someplace cool to spend time at night without paying cover at PI, this was great!

OP here :wave2:

We got there right as they opened at 3pm and there were children there. I think the later it gets the more adult oriented it gets. :)

My mom and brother had the Pie in the Sky, they loved it. My brother is a very picky eater, but he said it was wonderful.

I thought the portions were well sized. We're big eaters and none of us cleaned our plates (except for dessert). :teeth: We had eaten at Rose and Crown the day before and I thought that the portions were larger than those at Rose and Crown; it's my humble opinion that you do get your money's worth. :goodvibes

Stupid question coming...what is a roast loin of bacon?!

Does anyone know if they actually serve mead...haven't been able to find mead anywhere in America!

skiwee1:
It's the An Poitin Stil--located on York Rd. in Timonium, just across from the Fairgrounds.
Like Raglan Rd., best time for a somewhat quiet meal is early. Later on, the bar is really hopping and the barfly "spillover's" are often standing among the folks eating at the tables. And the parking lot is full.
Did Ruth's Cris once for steak--too far for me to go on a routine basis.

I was just going to ask you where this was myself, so thanks for posting this. This sounds really good, will definitely have to try it! :drinking1

Is the 1 TS good now? Or only after January 1st? We have an ADR "opening" for New Years Eve, and it sounds great!

Thanks for the reply about children. We have an ADR for 6PM so I think we'll be fine.

I can't wait!!! :cool1:
