i was wondering if anyone has stayed in the radisson at the port very recently? we are taking a 3nite in april and are going down the day before. we can't decide where we should stay, near the port or in disney somewhere. comments about the radisson would be great. thanks a bunch!!!!

My family of six stayed at the Radisson the end of August, we had a very nice room and no problems whatsoever, we booked a room for next August as well.

We recently stayed at the Radisson 10/18/03! We had a great time! The bartender told us about a great restaurant (Grills) to eat at and we acually got to watch the Magic leave! The shuttle to the port was great! We had no problems! I would definitely recommend you staying at the Radisson! Its to easy!

The nice thing about staying at a port-area hotel is that it helps with the transition between park and port. You're already there and you've seen the port signs... you have the anticipation of waking up in the morning and ambling over to the port at your leisure instead of having the stress of getting up and out so you can make the 65-mile trip. I like staying at the port.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM? THE WAY I LOOK AT IT IS WE SPEND $1200 IN AIRFARE TO GET FROM CHICAGO TO ORLANDO. I CANT IMAGINE NOT GOING TO WDW EVEN IF IT IS FOR ONLY 1 NIGHT. WE ARE CRUISING IN JAN AND WILL BE STAYING IN WDW FOR 2 NIGHTS BEFORE WE SAIL. EVEN ON TRIPS TO MIAMI, CLEARWATER, AND THE KEYS WE HAVE STOPPED IN WDW::MickeyMo . ARE WE OBSESSED WITH THE MOUSE?::yes::

We're doing both! Staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise, then staying a night (or two) at WDW when we get off the cruise. Still not sure which WDW resort...maybe the Polynesian for it's relaxing atmosphere, beach, restaurants, and monorail access :sunny:

I agree with Dave as far as waking up the morning of the cruise and already being right there near the port ::yes::

We stayed at the Radisson this past December..it was excellent.

The pool is beautiful, they have a guy singing tropical type songs in the pool area on Friday afternoon. The buffet food didn't look that great, so we headed to Grills at the port...it is excellent.

It was nice to be so close the morning of the cruise...we didn't have to rush or worry about traffic getting to the port.

Pardon my ignorance, is this the Raddison Resort Parkway? You all make it sound as if it is right at the port. How do you go from it to the boarding area? Is this a walk or a shuttle ride? We're trying to decide whether to stay at the airport or at the port the night before.

Thanks for your help!:D

We stayed at the Radisson near the port and took their shuttle to the terminal.

Hi, MamaGriz. Here on the Cruise Board, when we refer to the Radisson, we're usually speaking about the Radisson at Cape Canaveral (www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl). Cape Canaveral is 47 miles from the airport and 65 miles from the parks. The Cape Canaveral Radisson is 3 miles from the port... they offer a shuttle from the hotel to the cruise terminal.

The Radisson Resort Parkway (www.radissonparkway.com) is Kissimmee, near the parks. They offer a complimentary shuttle from their property to the parks.

We stayed at the Radisson at the Port in Jan. 2002 the night prior to a cruise and we really enjoyed it. Although, our energetic DS was so excited and woke up so early that we had a lot of time to kill before we could go check in at the port. :crazy2:

I think where you stay partly depends on what time of day you are getting there the day before. If you are arriving early in the day and want to do Disney for a day, that's a nice option. But, it would be even nicer if you want to spend time at Disney to come 2 or more nights in advance. I have read of some even just spending time at DTD if they come 1 day before and didn't have enough time for the parks. Otherwise if getting there mid to late afternoon, it might be more relaxing to just head for the port. On our next trip, our flight doesn't arrive until 6:00 pm, so we decided to just stay at the airport and then have a towncar take us to the port in the morning since we wouldn't get to Port Canaveral early enough to really do anything there the night before anyway. And then we are going to spend two nights at WDW after the cruise. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

We stayed at the Radisson on October 11 for our Wonder cruise. For about $100 (I think that is what we paid) we got a King suite with a huge jacuzzi tub. The kids loved the pool. However, DO NOT ORDER room service food in the morning. We all thought the room service food was awful. We will stay there again.

Thanks for this question - as a result, we've decided to stay at the Radisson the night before our cruise. We are planning a few days at WDW offsite before the cruise, and at first I didn't think that it would be that big of a deal to drive to Canaveral on departure morning. Well, I certainly thought again, and now we can join the pre-cruise meet at the Radisson!!
