Radisson is full. Alternatives?

I was hoping to stay at the Radisson before our Dec 03 cruise but they are fully booked. What other hotels have people stayed at that they could recommend?

we have not stayed here yet but we will in sept. We're staying at the marriott courtyard cocoa beach. I've heard it's like any other courtyard.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach and it was fine. I will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott this October...I have heard good things about it.

I find with the Radisson that some days they have rooms - next day the have none - two days later they have rooms again. If you had your heart set on the Radisson call them often and keep checking the website. (Call the hotel directly if you can).
If not the Radisson tell us what you might need like -
How many nights? How many people in your group? Do you want the beach or ocean view? Are pools important to you?
There several nice condos you can rent. Some have minimum stays. I just came back from Cocoa beach after my April cruise. Stayed at the Radisson pre cruise and Ron Jon Resort post crusie.
So let us know what you may be looking for if you can't get the Radisson.

I loved the idea of the Radisson because:

Big rooms
Big pool - #1 priority for my DS11
super close to the pier
It looked very clean & a little fancy

That being said I've never actually been there since this is my first cruise. I'm going purely by the website & other post comments.

I would say the rooms are average size unless you are able to get a suite. We had a suite with two king size beds which was great. Other family members got a regular room and it was okay. If your DS loves pool definitely look into Ron Jon Resort. We stayed there after our cruise for 3 nights. They have a waterslide and a lazy river in addition to a big pool. Just called and they are full for that weekend. Fri and Sat nights. She did ask if I was part of a function, so they may have some parties going on that weekend.

Last year, they had a wedding and 2 Christmas parties going on.

We stayed in a suite at the Radisson this past January and loved it.

We also had problems booking rooms over the internet - all said it was full. Have you tried a travel agent? That was the only way I could get a room when we were looking.

If you really want the Radisson I would try a TA.

I tried calling them direct & was told they have a convention or something & the rooms are all really booked. I'll keep my eye on the website because I really did have my heart set. But for now I think I'll book the Holiday Inn to be safe.

We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express in a suite for cheaper than the radisson's suites here. Plus I get priority club points.

I wasn't impressed with the Raddisson. I really wish I'd booked our pre-cruise stay at AKL. Enjoy the pool, eat at Jiko, Boma for breakfast - then get on the ship.

The pool WAS big, but lacked a slide. The room was ok, but except for the luciously appointed bathroom (we had a suite) not impressive. The resort seemed a little run down around the edges (though our room was cleanish). The restaurant wasn't good and was overcrowded. There were far too many people going on "other" cruise lines looking for a party hanging by the pool for me to feel comfortable with my kids there for long.

I'd love to stay at a WDW resort the night before or even the new Nick Suites, but I'd be worried about the drive in the morning. I'm one of those people that has to be there extra early so I'm worried I'd have to start driving at 7:30am.

But now that you mention it maybe it wouldn't be so bad.....

We love staying over at WDW the night before. Since you can't even go into the port area until between 10-10:30 the morning of the cruise, it is no problem getting over there (leave around 9:00).

To be honest, we stayed at Port the night before our cruise at the Radisson one time and the girls got up early and we had to 'entertain' them until time to go to the ship. This last time, we stayed at WDW, and we drove over that morning. The night before, we had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. It was a nice way to start out our trip!

I was thinking of going early and just getting in line at 9 - 9:30. -- I'm one of those have to be first kinda gals.

Can I still line up outside the Disney building?

We arrived at the gates at about 10:30 and we were the first ones to the Disney Terminal. We had to stand around until 11:00 or so before they would even take our luggage and let us in the terminal. We then proceeded through security and were first in line to check in - and then the real waiting started! They waited until about 12:30 before they let us on the ship, but that line moved fairly well and we were eating lunch at BBB by 1:00.

So you have no need to be at the terminal until around 10:30 - there is no where to even sit down!

They won't let you park until around 10-10:30 (closer to 10:30 actually). They need time to clear out the people from the cruise that just let off. So there is plenty of time to get to port from WDW.

OK I guess one night at the Poly wouldn't be so bad. But I'm still going to plan on getting to the port at about 10.

I sure am glad you all told me about not getting there too early because I seriously could have seen myself showing up at 8:30 book in hand - just to be first - to wait. Don't know why, it's just what I do.

My butt thanks you too since it prob wouldn't have been too happy sitting on the ground for 2 1/2 hours.

My kids were getting a little antsy waiting as there was no where for them really to go and run around.

Now inside the terminal was wonderful and they were more than happy to watch Disney movies, see MInnie and Mickey and watch all of their fellow cruisers arrive.

Good morning,
After making a number of phone calls and waiting to find out info, I finally got a call back yesterday informing me as to when the 2 new hotels that are being built as you come off 528 inot Cape Canaveral will be opened for business either in November or the first part of December. One is called The Residence of Marriott and the next one is The Country Inn and Suite (I still don't know who is having that one built) - believe me you will have a LOT of options of where to stay - I will have the opportunity to speak to the GM of the Radisson tonight and will try to find out if they are planning on expanding as rumors have it. You won't have any problems finding a place to stay.

When you are talking to the Manager of the Radisson, could you find out if they are having some functions there on the weekend of 12/3. I assume that is why there are no rooms available for that Sat. night.

I'm looking into the Cocoa Beach Oceanside Inn. Do you have any comments on that resort?
