We were planning on staying at the Radisson at Cape Canaveral since my husband travels frequently to the Cape for work and loves this hotel. Wondering if the hotel has a shuttle to the port for the cruise?

Yes they do and it is really convenient. Just check for a time at the front desk when you check in. The Raddison is a nice hotel.

I would suggest making your reservation for the shuttle on the early side. We reserved the 10:20am shuttle and arrived at 10:15 to find that it was running late and there were way more passengers booked than they could handle. I think people were just showing up when they wanted to without a reservation. I must say that the drivers recovered time quickly and attempted to accomodate as many passengers as they could.

Arriving at the terminal (after checking in our luggage and walking from the drop off lot) at about 11am, we were able to be one of the first families to board and get all of our reservations taken care of. If that is your concern, the 10:20 shuttle should work out great for you. Happy Cruising!:D

Do they (Radisson) have a shuttle from MCO to hotel???

Now that would be nice.

If they did, we didn't find out about it (methinks you're dreaming a bit LOL ;) ) The towncar options are great though - Tiffany has never let us down.

No, the Radisson near the port is 46 miles from the Orlando airport. But you could rent a car from Avis at the airport and return it at the Avis counter at the Radisson, and not be charged any one-way or drop-off charges.

WE STAYED AY THE RADISSON IN OCTOBER AND USED THE SHUTTLE I AGREE RESERVING A TIME ON THE SHUTTLE IS MEANINGLESS AS PEOPLE JUST GET ON WHEN THEY PLEASE AND NOONE IS CHECKING FOR YOUR RESERVATION TIME .WE ENDED UP WITH ONE DAUGHTER ON OUR LAP IN A VERY CROWDED SHUTTLE . WHEN WE RETURNED FROM OUR CRUISE WE WAITED QUITE A WHILE FOR THE SHUTTLE TO RETURN US TO THE HOTEL AND CAR BUT GAVE UP AFTER A WHILE AND TOOK A TAXI BACK. I LOVED THE HOTEL AND WILL BE STAYING THERE AGAIN IN AUGUST BUT I WILL NOT BE USING THEIR SHUTTLE

we just got back this week and we signed up for the 11.00am shuttle. and we're out front at 10.45 and the avis shuttle came buy and asked if we wanted a ride and said sure and gave him a tip and was at port early.
i was nervous because we did not checkin to the radisson until 6pm the night before that there would be no more good times left.there were all kinds of times left and we ended up taking the avis shuttle anyway.

Thought we would rent a car from Avis so I called yesterday. For a mid-size car, I got a quote of $68 from MCO to Radisson and $47 from Radisson to MCO for the return. We will be flying down the day before the cruise and need the car for that evening and of course to get back to MCO from the cruise. Does that sound right? Dave_from_Marietta, what do you mean no one-way charges or drop off charges?

That sounds about right if you're taking the 3-day cruise. You'd be paying weekday rates on the outbound which tend to be higher than the weekend rates, which I'm guessing you were quoted for the return.

Some companies try to discourage one-way rentals by adding a drop fee in addition to the other surcharges. Thrifty, for example, has locations at both MCO and Cape Canaveral. But I don't include them in my summary of options, because they charge a $35 "Drop Charge" in addition to the rental rate and taxes.

When that's not allowed, the company might increase the rates instead. For instance, I once looked into renting a car in Buffalo and returning it in Toronto. When the daily rate for the car would have been in excess of $100, I decided I could make the time to drive back to Buffalo.
