Hello all.....some questions for some of you guys who has stayed at the Radisson before cruising....we have cruised 7 times...but each time has used DCL transportation to the port....we are spending 5 nights in Disney before cruising on 12/4......we figured that we could book a room at the Radisson for Friday night 12/3....stay in the parks until Wishes fireworks is over than drive to the Radisson.....we have booked an Avis rent a car and we are going to return it by the port.....my questions are first....how far is the Radisson from the port.....how far is the Avis office from the port to return the car....should I drop my wife off at the port than take the car back to Avis....and how do I get back to the port....does Avis have a courtesy shuttle to the port? I figured even if we check in at 11 at night we could sleep a little later and get to the port around 11 in the morning.....and my wife could check us in while I returned the car.....please give me some imput....
Thanks.....
Tom

Might I suggest that you switch to Budget. It's only about a 3 minute walk from the Radisson. You can either take the Radisson shuttle or have Budget drop you off...Mark

Avis does have courtesy shuttle to and from Port. We have tried both. MY DH dropped us all off one time and then hopped on the shuttle back to Port after dropping off car. I did not think it was any better than us all taking the shuttle because I waited for him anyway. I was satisfied with Avis shuttle, hopefully nothing has changed since they moved from the Radisson.

Last November we did what you are doing - stayed at the Radison and had a rental from Avis. My DH dropped DS and me and the luggage at the port and drove back to AVIS. Then he took the shuttle back. We checked in without him and then he just had to go to the desk and get his KTTW card when he got back. Very simple and stress free.

Better than all of us taking the shuttle - leaves room for other drivers and you aren't dragging your luggage on and off the van.

This year we're renting from Budget - better price - and hoping to have the same experience.

BUT .... if you aren't using the Radisson shuttle then there is no need to spend so much on a hotel. We used PriceLine and got the Holiday Inn for $50. Sure the Radison is closer, but does a few miles really make that much difference? I hope not.

Enjoy your cruise!!!!
